How to Identify and Fix Common Problems ?

The ink levels may be low and you may need to refill the ink. Visually check the ink levels. Also make sure you filled the tanks with the correct colors of ink. After you print, the colors in your printout need time to set as the ink dries.
If the nozzle check page does not print satisfactorily, there is a problem with the printer. This could be a clogged ink nozzle or a misaligned print head. See Cleaning the Print Head for details on cleaning the print head. For information on aligning the print head, see Aligning the Print Head.
Why is your printer printing pink? Your printer may be printing pink as the other ink cartridges have run out. Common printer-to-page technology processes colour in four parts; cyan, magenta, yellow and black (CMYK), or toner. The ink cartridges in your inkjet or colour laser printer are split up into four colours.
If there is a line, the print cartridge is most likely your culprit. Replace the defective print cartridge with a new one. Place the print cartridge back in the machine. Print a test document to see if issue is resolved.
The ink cartridges may be old or low on ink, and you may need to replace them. Your printed colors can never exactly match your on-screen colors. However, you can use a color management system to get as close as possible. Try using the color management options in your printer software.
First, check your printer settings on the file or picture your trying to print. If your page is setup to print in “grayscale” it will only print in black and white. Change the setting to “default” so it will print in color. If your settings look good from the start, the cartridge may just need to be primed.
Prints that appear more green are commonly caused by an absence of magenta ink/toner being put to paper by your printer. In addition to your prints looking “greener” you may also notice yellow and blue areas appear almost neon due to the the magenta not being able to give them more realistic tones.
Warm water can often loosen ink that has dried on the nozzles. Other times you`ll need Windex, or some other ammonia-based solvent, for a deeper cleaning. Turn your printer on. It will begin to run through its initialization startup process.
Ink or toner: If the printer`s red ink or toner cartridge is low or empty, it may not be able to print red. Check the ink levels and replace the cartridge if necessary. Blocked nozzle: Sometimes, the nozzle that dispenses red ink may become clogged with dried ink or debris, preventing it from printing properly.
Right-click the printer icon on the taskbar, then select Nozzle Check.
For Windows Users
Click the Screen Calibration Utility icon button. The Screen Calibration dialog box appears. Move the slider to the right or left until the two shades of the gray horizontal stripes match. Click OK when you have finished calibrating your scanner and monitor.

Paper feeds straight through without printing on an Epson R2400
ANSWER : I was able to get it to print the internal test page by holding down the sheet paper feed button while turning the machine on — then continuing to hold the sheet paper feed button. It took several attempts, feeding a page straight through, but eventually it caught the sheet and printed. So it may be a timing issue as others have mentioned. It could still mean that the feed rollers are worn out. The back side of the large D-shaped feed roller has visible abrasion on it. The abrasion is difficult to see as the roller does not stay with the flat side exposed.

Epson Stylus C64 in problems, Help!!!!
ANSWER : a lucky tip – if all else fails and you don’t have a PC instead of a Mac, try what I did on my C63. When the head finished moving and both red lights flashed with a “general error’ message, turn off the printer power supply and physically slide the head from its rest position to the far left of the printer. This seems to re-set the “foreign body” trigger. Turn the power back on, the head slowly moves back to the rest position and hey presto the lights have stopped flashing and the printer works! Sounds clumsy but you have nothing to lose trying it, the cost of repair exceeds the value of a 10 year old printer.
