The Cause of Clogs

Printheads clog because nozzles get blocked by either air or ink. Clogs usually happen when: You keep printing with depleted ink cartridges. Using empty ink cartridges can result in air bubbles that can clog your cartridge and/or printhead.

/Paper feed button. Feeds the paper in the forward direction. When the paper is loaded in the Auto Sheet Feeder or Manual Front slot, loads the paper to the printing position automatically, and Manual Rear slot back feeds the paper.
Customizing print settings

Click Advanced, then click More Settings. The following dialog box appears. Choose Color or Black as the Color setting.

All cartridges must be installed with ink for printing and printer maintenance. For print quality, some ink remains in replaced cartridges. Designed for EPSON cartridges only: Other brands of ink supplies are not compatible and, if described as compatible, may not function properly or continuously.
If you own a standard Epson home inkjet printer, it likely uses DURABrite cartridges. Epson Claria Photo HD cartridges contain mostly dye-based ink and are designed for amateur photo printing.
Make sure the Black/Grayscale or Grayscale setting is not selected in your printer software. Run a nozzle check to see if any of the print head nozzles are clogged. Then clean the print head, if necessary. The ink levels may be low and you may need to refill the ink.
There may be several reasons behind the issue, such as empty ink cartridges, Clogged Print Head Nozzles, and Incorrect Print Settings. There may be a fault in the settings of Color Management as well. You can fix it via Running a Nozzle Check or enabling the Print Settings to Color or Replacing the Ink Cartridges.
First, check your printer settings on the file or picture your trying to print. If your page is setup to print in “grayscale” it will only print in black and white. Change the setting to “default” so it will print in color. If your settings look good from the start, the cartridge may just need to be primed.
A print mode often refers to printer resolution (dpi) but may also mean color vs. monochrome, portrait vs. landscape or line print mode (plain text; no formatting). See printer friendly format.
Select Print Settings from the pop-up menu. On the Basic tab, select the type of color correction from Color Settings. Select the Advanced Color Settings tab, and make the appropriate settings.
Perform a self-test on the Epson printer

Press the FEED button while simultaneously turning on the printer. The printer should print out the firmware version and communication settings. Press the FEED button again – the printer should print a sequence of letters, numbers, and symbols.
