If your printouts have incorrect colors, try these solutions: Make sure the paper type setting matches the paper you loaded. Make sure the Black/Grayscale or Grayscale setting is not selected in your printer software. Run a nozzle check to see if any of the print head nozzles are clogged.
Why is my Epson printer skipping lines when printing? Apart from a clogged printhead, one other potential culprit is the electronic connection of your cartridges with your printer. Try removing your cartridges from your printer, and then shutting your printer down.
First, check your printer settings on the file or picture your trying to print. If your page is setup to print in “grayscale” it will only print in black and white. Change the setting to “default” so it will print in color. If your settings look good from the start, the cartridge may just need to be primed.
Here are the most common causes of a printer printing faded text or images: Low ink or toner levels. Toner sticking to the fuser roller or problems with the transfer roller. Low ink or toner density settings.
There may be no toner left in the toner cartridge. If the message in the LCD panel or in EPSON Status Monitor 3 indicates that the amount of toner is low, replace the toner cartridge. See Toner Cartridge. You can also check the remaining toner with the following symbols on the Basic Settings tab in the printer driver.
If your PC or the LCD screen on your printer is telling you that your ink cartridges are full but no ink is passing through to the paper, then it`s most likely that you are dealing with a clogged printhead. Blurry documents and images that appear faded are also signs that it`s time to remove the excess ink.
Check the ink levels Sometimes, the printer may not print black ink because it is low or empty. You can check the ink levels on the printer`s display, or by using the software that came with your printer. If the ink level is low, replace the cartridge or refill it according to the manufacturer`s instructions.
The ink cartridges may be old or low on ink, and you may need to replace them. Your printed colors can never exactly match your on-screen colors. However, you can use a color management system to get as close as possible. Try using the color management options in your printer software.
Color Matching Settings
EPSON Color Controls. Lets you manage color using controls in your printer software, or turn off color management.
Color calibration enables your printer to produce consistent colors with the particular printheads, inks and paper type that you are using, and under your particular environmental conditions.
For most purposes, and most users, working in RGB should produce the best results. If you want to embed or assign a profile to your file(s) we recommend Adobe RGB 1998. Conventional wisdom holds that you work in RGB for screen-based work, and CMYK for work that will be printed. That is no longer the convention.
Because the RGB scheme has a greater range of colors, CMYK cannot produce brighter colors. These hues are beyond the CMYK range and will come out darker and more dull when printed than what you see on your display.
Your printer may be printing pink as the other ink cartridges have run out. Common printer-to-page technology processes colour in four parts; cyan, magenta, yellow and black (CMYK), or toner. The ink cartridges in your inkjet or colour laser printer are split up into four colours.
