Open the printer driver window. In the Main menu, select Automatic or Custom. Select the method for the color adjustment. If you select Custom for the Mode to set manually, select Color Controls, and then click Advanced.
Epson® Inkjet Printers
Any DURABrite Ultra pigment ink (smudge, fade and water resistant) will work.
First, check your printer settings on the file or picture your trying to print. If your page is setup to print in “grayscale” it will only print in black and white. Change the setting to “default” so it will print in color. If your settings look good from the start, the cartridge may just need to be primed.
If your Epson printer is printing out faint images, skipping lines, or is streaking your image with lines, chances are you have a clogged nozzle–a common problem many users have with Epson printers. It`s unavoidable that print heads clog over time as small amounts of ink residue dry up and collect in the nozzles.
Epson printers contain a permanent print head that needs to be charged with all colors to work. Even when you are printing black text only, a small amount of color ink is used to keep the print head charged.
ICC color Profiles are look-up tables that describe the properties of a color space. A profile will change the properties of a color space that your Epson printer prints. For example, your Epson printer will have the information to print a picture of the sky `blue` but not the exact shade you can see on your monitor.
Dye ink uses colour substances that are dissolved in a liquid while pigment ink uses small colour particles that are held in a suspension. The water soluble dye can be seen as sugar that dissolves in water and the pigments as sand mixed in water.
Several factors may cause the product to print blank pages, such as print settings, low ink, or the product itself. Check the following: Make sure the product is placed on a flat, stable surface that extends beyond the base in all directions. The product won`t operate properly if it`s tilted or at an angle.
Check the ink levels Sometimes, the printer may not print black ink because it is low or empty. You can check the ink levels on the printer`s display, or by using the software that came with your printer. If the ink level is low, replace the cartridge or refill it according to the manufacturer`s instructions.
CMYK color mode is used for printing.
If the quality of your printouts remains poor even after repeatedly cleaning and aligning the print head, one or some of the ink cartridges may be old or damaged and should be replaced. To replace an ink cartridge before the Status Monitor notifies you that the cartridge is empty, see Replacing an Ink Cartridge.
If you want to show off bold, bright images or photographs to an important client, 1200 DPI is your best option. Professional photographers may need resolutions as high as 2880 by 1440 DPI or even more. This insight also applies to paper. Your choice of paper significantly increases the quality of your prints.
Choosing the print quality by using the Automatic setting
There are two levels of print output, 300 dpi and 600 dpi. 600 dpi provides high quality, precise printing, but requires more memory and slows the printing speed.
When color ink is expended and black ink still remains, you can continue printing for a short time using only black ink. However, you should replace the expended ink cartridge(s) as soon as possible.
The printer will not operate if a black ink cartridge is expended or any cartridge is removed. If a color cartridge is expended, you may be able to continue printing temporarily with black ink. It`s best to always have extra cartridges on hand.
General Use
The safest option in most uses is sRGB. While it`s not the largest color space and isn`t ideal for high-quality imaging applications, you`ll be hard-pressed to find a device or app that doesn`t handle files embedded with the sRGB colorspace as you`d expect.
CMYK is the best option for artwork destined for print. CMYK breaks each color down as a mix of cyan, magenta, yellow, and black. This matches the four ink colors used by commercial printers.
Branded ink is expensive because original equipment printer manufacturers (OEMs) claim that the technology to make ink is expensive; so much is spent on R&D, and it costs a ton of money to ensure topnotch ink quality and reliability.
After black, red tends to be the most used color, and it`s made by using the magenta cartridge mixed with other colors. Cyan and yellow tend to be the least used cartridges in your printer.
What Is The Difference Between Pigment And Dye-Based Ink? Dye inks consist of a soluble colourant, or dye, dissolved in liquid, while pigment inks consist of microscopic specks of solid colours which are suspended in liquid.
You may hear that you shouldn`t mix dye ink and pigment ink. It is true. It would be best if you didn`t use the combination for an extended period. The reason is dye ink and pigment ink has different base solutions.
Not all printers use the same ink. Inkjet printers and laser printers differ because one uses liquid ink and one uses toner powder. Similarly, not all inkjet printers are the same in that some inkjet printers use dye-based ink and some use pigment-based ink.
