The Power light blinks at a steady interval when the printer is processing a print job. If the Power light blinks fast, the ink cartridge door might be open, or the printer might be in an error state.

Fast blinking power lights indicate that there might be an error with the printer. The flashing resume light is the indicator that the paper jam or an empty paper tray. Due to the broken parts of the printer or any internal error, the printer light starts blinking.
Ink has run out. (The lamp on the ink tank flashes.) If printing is in progress, stop printing, replace the ink tank, and then print again. Printing under the current condition may damage the printer.
Just above the circuit board on most printer cartridges, you`ll find a small button. You`ve seen these tiny buttons before on cell phones, phone chargers, etc. This is your reset button, and the only way to get in there is either with a paper clip or the tip of a pen (which will leave a tiny ink smudge on the button).
Install an appropriate canon ink cartridge. If the lamp on the ink tank is flashing, ink may have run out. Replacing the ink tank is recommended.

Press the button on the chip-reset tool for several seconds until the LED light on the device goes off. Then, unlock the reset tool from the cartridge. Use the resetter with other cartridges and install them back into the corresponding slots in your printer. Voila!
