Hey, you can reset Epson ink cartridge without resetter! As shown above, you can reset Epson chips by pressing and holding the button above the chip with a bent paper clip for 10 seconds.

Inspect the cartridge for the metal contacts. Inspect the inside of the printer for the connection point. With a lint-free/dry cloth lightly wipe the contacts on both cartridges and printer to remove any dirt, or residue being careful not to cause any damage. Replace the cartridges in the printer.

The most common reason a refilled ink cartridge does not work is that you didn`t reinstall the cartridge properly. Check the cartridge and make sure it is not dislodged or misaligned. If there is no visible sign of misinstallation, remove the cartridge and reinstall it.

If your printer is not detecting the cartridges, there might be the following possible reasons: The cartridge chip is dirty or damaged. They are not compatible with your printer. They are not installed properly.

Your printer should have been packaged with a USB cable regardless of whether it is a wireless or wired printer. Plug the cable into your printer and your computer`s USB port. The direct linking should trigger your computer to recognize the printer and start up the software needed to complete the installation.

EPSON printer utilities allow you to check the current printer status and to perform some printer maintenance from your computer. To use the utilities, click the Utility tab in the printer software, then click the button for the utility that you want to use.

Press and hold down the Cancel button for 3 seconds. When the message to reset the printer to default settings appears, press OK to reset the print settings. Note: This reset does not affect LCD contrast, Print Confirmation, or PictureMate Print Wizard settings.

Press the right or left arrow button to highlight the ink tank you refilled and press the OK button to select it. Repeat for each ink tank color you refilled. Press the start button to reset the ink levels, then press the OK button when the reset is complete.

Verify the ink cartridge(s) is inserted properly. Some cartridges snap in place, and if they are not inserted fully, the printer won`t print anything. If a lever is moved from its original position to allow for installation of ink cartridges, ensure it is returned to its original position.

Missing colours, streaky prints, smudges and ink blotches are all signs that your printer ink or toner cartridge may be damaged. Some printers will actually warn you if a cartridge is damaged and will refuse to print. This includes HP ink cartridges, Samsung toner cartridges and Canon ink cartridges.

First, remove and reinstall the designated cartridge 2-3 times until it securely sits in the slot to overcome an HP printer cartridge error. Next, turn off the printer and take out all the cartridges. Gently wipe the cartridge and carriage contacts with a dry, lint-free cloth and reinstall again.

Press the button on the chip-reset tool for several seconds until the LED light on the device goes off. Then, unlock the reset tool from the cartridge. Use the resetter with other cartridges and install them back into the corresponding slots in your printer. Voila!
