Check inside the printer for any debris that might be causing paper jams. Turn off the printer, and then unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet. Remove any paper from the input tray. A piece of paper stuck in the paper tray or inside the printer can create a paper jam. Paper jams can occur for a variety of reasons, such as overloading the paper tray, loading different thicknesses of paper in the tray, or using paper that isn`t appropriate for your particular printer.
Did you know most copier paper jams are caused by the paper itself? Misaligned paper. When a stack of paper isn`t aligned properly in the machine, it often causes a paper jam issue. When adding a ream of paper, always fan the paper, load carefully and avoid overstuffing the tray.
Common causes of paper jams include: Damaged rollers. Inserting paper that is incompatible with the printer. Loading the paper incorrectly.
A paper jam is when paper or other printed material gets stuck or lodged in a printer and cannot eject.
Incorrect loading of paper is probably the most common cause of paper jam. There`s a lot of things that can go wrong when loading the paper into the input tray. For example, sheets that got stuck together in the tray can be pulled in together, immediately causing a paper jam.
The first way to eliminate static electricity is by controlling the humidity in the air of your print environment. Relative humidity needs to be above 40%, and operate your printer at an ambient temperature of 20 to 32ºC (68 to 90ºF). An industrial humidifier keeps the moisture at bay.
Paper pushed too far into the input tray when it is loaded, might feed into the printer incorrectly, causing the paper to tear. Paper stacks loaded into the input tray with too many or too few sheets of paper, might feed into the printer incorrectly, causing the paper to tear.
It`s important to replace the drum promptly when it`s low to avoid any further damage to the printer and to maintain optimal print quality. A bad drum may cause paper jams because it can cause the toner to be unevenly distributed on the paper, leading to jams or misfeeds.

Paper jam in tray 2 (but no paper pulled from tray) also M476DN models
ANSWER : Isopropyl alcohol is not recommended for rubber rollers. It dries out the rubber and hasten it’s cracking and breaking. It will do nothing to restore the grip. Those rollers are really hard to replace. It would be easy if that dumbass secondary menu really worked. None of the techs I’ve spoke to ever got into it. Everyone I know sends a print job and listens for the roller to rotate into position where you can pull it off.
