How to Identify and Fix Common Problems ?

Replace low, empty or faulty ink cartridges on your printer. Print a test page from your printer and check if the cyan colour is printing from your printer. Try cleaning the printheads with ethanol and check if it helps.
Mostly the printhead may have gone bad or the cyan cartridge is not good. If the old cyan cartridge has ink and still doesn`t print then it`s probably not the cartridges. I recommend you to reach out to HP phone support to explore that hardware service options for your printer.
If your machine`s cyan, magenta, or yellow toners run out, you can choose Mono in the printer driver to allow you to keep printing. You`ll be able to keep printing until the black toner runs out. When the black toner runs out, you won`t be able to print until you replace it.
Run a nozzle check to see if any of the print head nozzles are clogged. Then clean the print head, if necessary. The ink cartridges may be old or low on ink, and you may need to replace them. Your printed colors can never exactly match your on-screen colors.
Replace any low, empty or faulty ink cartridges on your printer. Dust or paper residue on the rollers or separator pad inside the automatic document feeder (ADF) can result in copy quality issues.
The printhead could be clogged, and you might need to clean the printhead several times to restore print quality. Use an automated tool from the printer control panel to clean the printhead. CAUTION: Never turn off the printer when ink cartridges are missing.
Check Remaining Ink / Toner Levels & Replace Cartridge if Necessary. Before you do anything complicated, make sure that your printer is not running out of ink or toner. You can visually inspect the remaining cartridge levels on your printer.
Printers that use two cartridges (one black, one tri-color) can print if one cartridge is empty. To continue printing, remove the empty cartridge from the printer. If a Single-cartridge mode message displays, select OK. If you are using the black cartridge, prints are in black and white (grayscale).
Now jump to the file you want to print and click the “Print” option. Move your cursor and click on “Properties” and then the “Color” option. Here, choose the option “Print in Grayscale” by just hitting on its checkbox.
The quick answer is: Yes, you can (if you own a printer model that allows it) — but you shouldn`t keep printing with an empty cartridge for too long. Why? Because running on an empty cartridge for too long can cause your printhead to overheat resulting in irreversible printer damage.
Grayscale printing means your printer uses cyan, magenta and yellow to make blacks richer.
If you do not have a new toner cartridge at hand and need printing before obtaining it, you can continue printing about 20 pages(*1) by opening and closing the front cover or the output tray. Print quality is not guaranteed.
Clean the printheads: Sometimes the issue why you are unable to print in color is because our printheads are clogged with ink. Clean the printheads and then print a document to check if color printing works. Some printers also have in-built programs that can clean themselves so remember to check for that.
Cyan is also one of the common inks used in four-color printing, along with magenta, yellow, and black; this set of colors is referred to as CMYK. In printing, the cyan ink is sometimes known as printer`s cyan, process cyan, or process blue.
Adding blue (cyan) to black will darken it up like nothing else will. I have been a printing press operator for 20 years and this has been my go-to trick since always to get the solid ink density up in a black image without increasing the amount of black being laid down.
Why is my printer printing yellow not red? It is most likely that your image is yellow where you were expecting it to be red and you may also notice that blue parts of the image appear turquoise instead. Both of these effects are caused by a lack of magenta ink/toner on your prints.
If the problem is isolated to one color, set the printer to Disable Cartridge Check and swap cartridges. If the problem disappears, the old cartridge was obviously bad. If the problem persists, something associated with the cartridge is to blame: its high voltage contact, high voltage circuit, or laser scanner.
Print color mismatch refers to a shift in the positions of colors that may occur when printing one image with multiple toner cartridges, causing printouts to appear blurry.
Why is your printer printing pink? Your printer may be printing pink as the other ink cartridges have run out. Common printer-to-page technology processes colour in four parts; cyan, magenta, yellow and black (CMYK), or toner. The ink cartridges in your inkjet or colour laser printer are split up into four colours.
Click on the Start Menu, select Printers and Faxes. Right Click on the printer icon, select Printing Preferences. The Printing Preferences dialogue opens.
How do I check HP Instant Ink cartridge levels? View ink cartridge levels from your printer software, or from the printer control panel. Tap the HP Instant Ink icon on the printer control panel to view ink levels. To check page counts and cartridge shipment status, go to HP Instant Ink.
To print in single-cartridge mode, remove one of the ink cartridges, and then continue to print as usual. The printer control panel or computer screen might display a message to install the missing cartridge. To clear the message and continue with the print job, click or press OK.
Information about Cyan / #00FFFF

In a CMYK color space (also known as process color, or four color, and used in color printing), hex #00FFFF is made of 100% cyan, 0% magenta, 0% yellow and 0% black. Cyan has a hue angle of 180 degrees, a saturation of 100% and a lightness of 50%.

Cyan is a bright, lively green blue, making it a wonderful addition to designs. It is typically associated with liveliness, youth and energy, and is often interchanged with turquoise. Cyan works well with deep pinks and teals to create bright, feminine color palettes.

My 2550n Color LaserJet does not want to print in color
ANSWER : That model had issues with the carousel solenoid sticking. That might explain why it works after you let it sit for 10 minutes. The solenoid gets hotter with use which causes the deteriorated foam on it to become sticky and hold down the release plate instead of letting it go. This allows the carousel to spin when it is supposed to stop for each color. The solenoid is located on the right side of the printer. If you open the lid, it is just behind the opening at the top right. You need to remove the top of the printer and scrape off the goo on top of the solenoid body. I put a piece of thin sticky backed felt to replace it. Other people use electrical tape.
