Your Epson printer may have failed to recognize the new ink cartridge, or its ink level system has read it as empty. For numerous Epson printer models, there`s a way to bypass this built-in ink checking system through a quick cartridge reset. Raise the printer`s top cover and then hold the Ink button.
What should I do? The ink cartridges may not have been installed using the correct procedure or they may not be seated correctly. Follow the instructions below to correctly install and reseat the ink cartridges. Turn on your product.
Press the home button, if necessary. Press the left or right arrow button to select Maintenance > Reset Ink Level. Press the start button, the OK button twice, and then the start button again. Press the right or left arrow button to highlight the ink tank you refilled and press the OK button to select it.
Your printer may not recognize the new ink cartridge, or the ink counter may read it as empty. Many printers have a cartridge reset feature that forces the machine to recognize the cartridge as new.
Verify the ink cartridge(s) is inserted properly. Some cartridges snap in place, and if they are not inserted fully, the printer won`t print anything. If a lever is moved from its original position to allow for installation of ink cartridges, ensure it is returned to its original position.
Note: You cannot continue printing with one ink cartridge empty, even if the other cartridge still contains ink. Before printing, replace the empty cartridge.
Press the home button, if necessary. Press the arrow buttons to select Setup and press the OK button. You see this screen: Press the arrow buttons to select Restore Default Settings and press the OK button.
Installing a new cartridge is something of a rite of passage for turntable owners. It`s a skill that once was common, but now seems to be considered some kind of black art by many. In reality, it`s not such a hard thing to do provided you have the appropriate tools, a reasonably steady hand and some patience.
If the printhead cleaning or rocking the cartridge did not work, it is likely time to replace your printer cartridge. Printer cartridges only have about a two year shelf life in their sealed package, and a far shorter lifespan if they are sitting idle in your printer.
Select your printer then press “Manage” Select “Printing Preferences” Click on the “Maintenance” tab on the far right. From there you should be able to see ink levels for your selected printer.
The Cause of Clogs

Printheads clog because nozzles get blocked by either air or ink. Clogs usually happen when: You keep printing with depleted ink cartridges. Using empty ink cartridges can result in air bubbles that can clog your cartridge and/or printhead.

ANSWER : Pretty much nothing else you can do except try another new cartridge. I had 2 identical HP printers once in the shop. One of them didn’t like one of the cartridges. I swapped it over with the other printers cartridge and it was happy. So was the other printer. Swapped the cartridges back and it didn’t like it again. How do you explain that? You don’t.

ANSWER : I followed all the online hints I could find and none worked. So I got to looking at the cartridge ink window and noticed it had a little float inside that was stuck to the bottom.
