Epson Stylus NX420
Tried successive head cleanings, but no luck. Twice I’ve taken it to a shop where they did an overnight soak to remove pluggage – but it cost $45 each time and I’d like to be able to do it myself at home – quicker & less costly – I hope. Any help? Thanks, George

Can you print with one or two empty ink cartridges? The quick answer is: Yes, you can (if you own a printer model that allows it) — but you shouldn`t keep printing with an empty cartridge for too long.
The “Incompatible Cartridge” message may signal you that the cartridge was placed in the wrong slot. In case you get such an error, make sure the cartridge model numbers match your printer model and your country/region. After that, check if they are installed correctly in the corresponding slots.
Verify the ink cartridge(s) is inserted properly. Some cartridges snap in place, and if they are not inserted fully, the printer won`t print anything. If a lever is moved from its original position to allow for installation of ink cartridges, ensure it is returned to its original position.

The ratio of 33.3% Cyan, 33.3% Magenta, and 33.3% Yellow, produces the color black from the color ink cartridge.
