The easiest way to connect the Canon printer to the computer is via a USB cable. It`s the traditional method of connecting devices. One end of the USB remains connected to the printer, and the other must be connected to the computer`s USB port.
Restart your computer – this often will recover any lost connections with wireless devices. Power off and on the printer, and even the access point or wireless router your printer connects to. Check your printer configuration – you may not be assigned to the correct port for the printer.
The Auto Power On function automatically turns on the printer when data is received. The Auto Power Off function automatically turns off the printer when there are no operations from the printer driver or the printer for a specified period of time.
Simply plug the USB cable from your printer into an available USB port on your PC, and turn the printer on. On the taskbar, select the Search icon, type Printers in the search bar, and then select Printers & scanners from the search results to open the Printers & scanners system setting.
Change your USB Cable or the USB Port

Alternatively, you can also use a USB cable recommended by Canon. If it`s not the cable, then check your USB port. If your camera doesn`t connect to your PC, then try plugging it again into a different USB terminal. Most PCs and laptops feature multiple USB ports.

If the cord is not damaged, plug it back in after at least five minutes. If you are still unable to obtain power to the device, try another power outlet. If possible, try connecting power directly to a wall outlet (as opposed to using a surge protector or power strip…just as a troubleshooting measure).
With a Canon wireless printer and apps, you can print anything you want from anywhere with a Wi-Fi connection, and keep on top of work, studies and home admin all from your smartphone.
An average ink-jet which is designed for home use will typically use 30 to 50 watts when it is printing, in standby mode most printers will draw around 3 to 5 watts of power. Commercial printers which are used in an office will draw 30 to 50 watts on standby and 300 to 500 watts when printing.
A power source is mandatory for all printers. Before a printer can perform any useful function, it must be turned on.
However, you cannot shoot while the battery is charging. Also note that the camera cannot be used unless the battery is in it. Charged batteries gradually lose their charge, even when they are not used. Charge the battery on (or immediately before) the day of use.
The Vello BG-C18 Battery Grip is specifically designed for the Canon EOS RP and R8 mirrorless cameras. It accepts two LP-E17 batteries to double the camera`s battery life, shooting time, and video recording time.
Enables you to conserve battery power in shooting mode. When the camera is not in use, the screen darkens to reduce battery consumption. Select [ : Eco mode].
Start by checking your hardware

If you`re using a wired printer, make sure that the printer cable is properly connected from the printer to your PC. For wireless printers, check the wireless connection. Make sure the printer`s wireless option is turned on and available.

To print wirelessly from a Canon printer, both your computer and printer need to be connected to your LAN (wireless network). To check the network, print out the Network (LAN) settings and look for the SSID (Network name). Click the appropriate Network icon in the system tray: Note the SSID name (Network name).
Faulty power cords and connections are an uncommon but possible cause of a printer not turning on. Before suspecting a cord failure, ensure that there is power to the wall outlet and there are no conditions preventing the printer from turning on. Testing by substitution can confirm if a cord connection is the problem.
The printer supports 3 connection methods. USB, Ethernet or Wireless. None of them depend on or require a internet connection to function. Without internet, you will not be able to use any cloud based features like scan to email, but printing and scanning to / from devices on a local network is possible.
The Cable Matters USB-C to USB-B cable is specifically designed to connect existing printers and scanners to newly released computers with USB-C or Thunderbolt 3. It supports legacy USB 2.0 devices with a standard Type-B USB port to a host computer with the small form factor Type-C.
For a printer connected to the computer via USB, the Port should be set to USB Virtual Printer Port (such as USB001, USB002). For a printer connected to the computer via Parallel, the Port should be set to LPT1 (or LPT2, LPT3 if you have more than one Parallel interface port on your computer).
There are also many other widely deployed services that allow you to print from anywhere when you are on the go. Stores like FedEx Office, Office Depot, OfficeMax, Staples, etc. allow you to upload your documents to the Cloud for printing, and then pick up your print job in person at the store.
The printer supports one active local (USB) connection and one active network connection (Ethernet or wireless) at a time.
Select the Start button, then select Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners. Under Add printers & scanners, select Add a printer or scanner. Choose the printer you want, and then select Add Device. If you don`t see the printer you want, select The printer that I want isn`t listed.
The USB port is located on the rear of the printer.
A possible cause may be that the USB cable is not connected correctly or the wrong port is selected. Check the following: Is the USB cable connected correctly? Check the both cable end connectors: the one to be connected to the machine and the other, to the computer.
The power consumption of an average inkjet printer is 30 to 50 watts in printing mode and around 3 to 5 watts while on standby mode.
