This issue could be due to the printer being dirty (excess ink in the ink cartridge tray or ink overflow tray). Try cleaning the printer thoroughly and installing the cartridges again to see if this fixes the problem.

This error code may cause an orange light on your machine to blink 5 times and is caused by the print head not being installed at all or it may have been installed incorrectly.
To reset this error, you need to first turn off the power of the printer. Then, while holding the stop or reset button, turn on the power on your printing device. Remember, while holding the power button, release stop/reset button and then push it twice.
Five flashes:Print Head is not installed/Print Head is defective. Follow the directions given in your setup manual to install the Print Head. If the Print Head is already installed, remove the Print Head once and then reinstall it. If the error is still not resolved, the Print Head may be damaged.
This error can sometimes occur even when you`re not trying to print, or if you don`t have a printer installed. To overcome this issue, the first thing to check is to make sure you have the latest printer driver installed for your printer.
The main cause of the issue is the absence of the printer driver software. Driver software that are incompatible with the system and also software that lack updates are other reasons that cause the printer error 5 to occur. Also, driver software for a particular device should be configured after its installation.
To try and resolve the error, please remove and reseat both ink cartridges in the printer, then power off the printer, unplug the power cord from the back and leave it out for at least 10 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it back on. If the error persists, the printer will require servicing.
The E,5,9 error indicates a problem with the paper size setting. You will need to check the paper size setting at the printer and on your computer. They will need to be the same.
To resolve that issue you are getting when using the Canon Pixma printer, you will need to do the following: You will need to try holding down the Stop/Reset key for about 5 seconds of the Canon MP140. After that you will need to reset it and see if it will recognize the cartridge.
Ink has run out. (The lamp on the ink tank flashes.) If printing is in progress, stop printing, replace the ink tank, and then print again. Printing under the current condition may damage the printer.
Check to make sure there are no paper jams or other obstructions. Unplug the printer for approximately two minutes, then plug it back in.

Canon Pixma MX882 won't print black text
ANSWER : Yeah I’m having the same problem with my Canon MX882. I’ve refilled the pigment tank, cleaned the print head and I still get no pigment black at all. I think it has something to do with the purge unit, but I don’t see any instructions on how to clean it. If I can figure it out, I’ll let you know.

Canon Pixma iP3000 "Open door" Error code.
ANSWER : Look for a protruding plastic on the top that goes into an indentation. Mine was in the front left side. Put a piece of cardboard into the indentation.and close the door. The top plastic piece is not pushing the door close sensor down and because its too short and the cardboard allows the sensor to be reached and pushed.
