How to Identify and Fix Common Problems ?

Check the Ink Cartridge Installed. One of the most common reasons behind color printing issues in the Canon printer is an empty cartridge. You should first check whether your cartridge still has ink. First, open the printer`s front door and remove the cartridge slowly and carefully.
If the nozzle check pattern shows adequate ink, but the printer doesn`t print color, clean the printhead. After that, print a nozzle check pattern. After performing printhead cleaning, perform a printhead deep cleaning. If still, the problem persists, switch off your printer and do the deep cleaning after a day.
If the print positions slightly shift for the respective colors, use the following procedure to perform color print mismatch correction. Press (Settings/Registration) <Adjustment/Maintenance> <Adjust Image Quality> <Auto Correct Color Mismatch>.
At the Windows Manage your device screen, click Printer properties. Click Preferences. From the Color Mode dropdown, choose either Color or Black and White.
The first step in printer calibration is to calibrate your monitor. Then, make sure you use the correct printer driver for your printer. Within the printer driver are controls for fine-tuning the overall appearance of color from your printer. Depending on your needs, this may be sufficient to get the color you want.
Perform color correction using ColorSync. With Canon Digital Photo Color, you can print with color tints that most people prefer. You can also select Canon Color Matching when you print in PRO mode. For more information about PRO mode, see “Adjusting Colors with the Printer Driver.”
Clean the printheads: Sometimes the issue why you are unable to print in color is because our printheads are clogged with ink. Clean the printheads and then print a document to check if color printing works. Some printers also have in-built programs that can clean themselves so remember to check for that.
A common cause of faded, faint printouts from your inkjet printer is dried ink particles causing a blockage in your printer. The printheads on an ink cartridge can be become blocked if the printer is not used for a period of time, so it is recommended to print a few pages each month to maintain the print quality.
If your printouts have incorrect colors, try these solutions: Make sure the paper type setting matches the paper you loaded. Make sure the Black/Grayscale or Grayscale setting is not selected in your printer software. Run a nozzle check to see if any of the print head nozzles are clogged.

Why is my printer printing yellow not red? It is most likely that your image is yellow where you were expecting it to be red and you may also notice that blue parts of the image appear turquoise instead. Both of these effects are caused by a lack of magenta ink/toner on your prints.
Your blue came out purple because of the divide between RGB and CMYK color gamuts. In simplest terms, the colors available in the RGB color gamut (what you can see on your screen) are much greater than the colors available in the CMYK gamut (what can be printed).

ANSWER : Mine was grabbing the paper from the right side only (where the roller is), sucking the paper in partway and then going sideways and jamming. I cleaned off the roller to no avail. Then I picked the printer up and looked in the paper slot and found a small screwdriver lying sideways so deep you almost couldn’t see it. I got that out and now it works fine!

Canon Pixma MX882 won't print black text
ANSWER : Yeah I’m having the same problem with my Canon MX882. I’ve refilled the pigment tank, cleaned the print head and I still get no pigment black at all. I think it has something to do with the purge unit, but I don’t see any instructions on how to clean it. If I can figure it out, I’ll let you know.
