One of the most common reasons behind color printing issues in the Canon printer is an empty cartridge. You should first check whether your cartridge still has ink. First, open the printer`s front door and remove the cartridge slowly and carefully. Look out for its ink levels.
If your printouts have incorrect colors, try these solutions: Make sure the paper type setting matches the paper you loaded. Make sure the Black/Grayscale or Grayscale setting is not selected in your printer software. Run a nozzle check to see if any of the print head nozzles are clogged.
If your printer is spitting out pages full of strange characters, symbols, or strange formatting, your inkjet printer drivers may be outdated, incompatible with your operating system or corrupt. Drivers are important to the proper function of your inkjet printer and it is best to check for updates regularly.
If the print positions slightly shift for the respective colors, use the following procedure to perform color print mismatch correction. Press (Settings/Registration) <Adjustment/Maintenance> <Adjust Image Quality> <Auto Correct Color Mismatch>.
The first step in printer calibration is to calibrate your monitor. Then, make sure you use the correct printer driver for your printer. Within the printer driver are controls for fine-tuning the overall appearance of color from your printer. Depending on your needs, this may be sufficient to get the color you want.
Print color mismatch refers to a shift in the positions of colors that may occur when printing one image with multiple toner cartridges, causing printouts to appear blurry.
First, check your printer settings on the file or picture your trying to print. If your page is setup to print in “grayscale” it will only print in black and white. Change the setting to “default” so it will print in color. If your settings look good from the start, the cartridge may just need to be primed.
Usually a quick paper setting adjustment will clear up a ghosting issue right away. Run a cleaning – Most printers have a cleaning function built into the machine. Run this a couple of times to attempt to clear up the printing issue. Inspect the drum – Sometimes excess toner powder can stick to the drum.
Dirty or misaligned print heads
Your printer may be printing fuzzy, blurry, or other faint text because of dirty print heads. All modern printers have a self-cleaning mode, which cleans the print heads, and additional internal equipment used in the printing process.
Just above the circuit board on most printer cartridges, you`ll find a small button. You`ve seen these tiny buttons before on cell phones, phone chargers, etc. This is your reset button, and the only way to get in there is either with a paper clip or the tip of a pen (which will leave a tiny ink smudge on the button).
You have two options to factory reset Canon printers. One method is to use the Reset button, while the other is to utilize the Setup option.
Color mismatch correction is the task of transferring color from one view of a stereopair to corresponding areas in another where the colors differ incorrectly. Color mismatches can decrease the overall video quality and may cause viewer discomfort and headaches.
The main reason this occurs is because the brightness level on the computer monitor is too high. It`s common with newer monitors, many of which are designed for gaming and have their brightness levels set higher by default.
What is an error color? Home Dictionary Error color. Error color indicates errors in components, such as invalid text in a text field. The baseline error color is #B00020.
It`s usually because the printhead inside your printer is clogged or dried out. Like with most printers, Canon printheads can clog due to ink or dust drying up and collecting in the nozzle.
Ghost printing is a print quality issue causing the printer to print a faint or “ghost” copy of a block of text or image onto the current page. Ghost printing may occur when using either blank paper, or it can occur when using pre-printed paper such as checks, invoices, and other kinds of forms.
Ghosting is usually considered the presence of a faint image of a design in solid printing areas that is not intended to receive that portion of the image. This print defect is always in the machine direction and usually is a repeated pattern.
The union label, or “bug” as it is commonly referred to, is a term that originates from the fact that a tiny logo is printed on a product and looks like a little insect or “bug.” It indicates that printed materials are completely union made during every step of the printing process.
Your printer may be printing pink as the other ink cartridges have run out. Common printer-to-page technology processes colour in four parts; cyan, magenta, yellow and black (CMYK), or toner. The ink cartridges in your inkjet or colour laser printer are split up into four colours.
Open the printer`s web page and Sign in as Administrator. On the General tab select Reset Factory Settings in the menu.

Your blue came out purple because of the divide between RGB and CMYK color gamuts. In simplest terms, the colors available in the RGB color gamut (what you can see on your screen) are much greater than the colors available in the CMYK gamut (what can be printed).

ANSWER : This video shows how to remove the heads. Ignore his methods of cleaning them as they are really stupid.
