How to Identify and Fix Common Problems ?

Your blue came out purple because of the divide between RGB and CMYK color gamuts. In simplest terms, the colors available in the RGB color gamut (what you can see on your screen) are much greater than the colors available in the CMYK gamut (what can be printed).
Purple is a mixture of blue and magenta, so that means the yellow is either empty or clogged. Verify that there is ink in the yellow cartridge, then print a nozzle check. If the yellow prints, then try printing something else with brown to see if the image itself is messed up.
If the nozzle check pattern shows adequate ink, but the printer doesn`t print color, clean the printhead. After that, print a nozzle check pattern. After performing printhead cleaning, perform a printhead deep cleaning. If still, the problem persists, switch off your printer and do the deep cleaning after a day.
There`s no practical way to make a clean blue shade from purple. You can make a purple progressively more blue by adding blue or cyan, however, this will result in a duller (desaturated) blue. If you add green to purple this will result in grey or black.
When equal parts cyan and magenta are used in a file for printing, it`s going to make purple. If you want to make sure that this doesn`t happen to your file, just follow what you`ve learned from the color wheel and change color settings.
Why is your printer printing pink? Your printer may be printing pink as the other ink cartridges have run out. Common printer-to-page technology processes colour in four parts; cyan, magenta, yellow and black (CMYK), or toner. The ink cartridges in your inkjet or colour laser printer are split up into four colours.
One of the most common reasons behind color printing issues in the Canon printer is an empty cartridge. You should first check whether your cartridge still has ink. First, open the printer`s front door and remove the cartridge slowly and carefully. Look out for its ink levels.
Select Canon Color Matching. From the pop-up menu, select Color Options. Then for Color Mode, select the mode that matches your purpose from among Photo Color, Linear Tone, PRO Mode, and Vivid Photo.
Thus, for an easier-to-read image, drawings started having a solid white background, and blue lines delineated the image. The process, however, changed very little: Instead, only the lines drawn on the original appeared on the copy.
Printing in black and white is possible without color ink, but only on select printers. Switching to a grayscale mode in printer preferences is easy to print without color ink. Buying a black-and-white-only printer is more cost-effective if you print mostly in black and white.
Yellow: Cancels PURPLE | You may have purple under eyes or bruised skin.
Blue and red are essential to creating purple, but you can mix in other colors to create different shades of purple. Adding white, yellow, or gray to your mixture of blue and red will give you a lighter purple.
The biggest difference between the RGB and CMYK color mixing modes are what designs they`re used for. RGB color mixing is the primary color mode for digital designs (like web, TV or phone files) while the CMYK mode is used for printed designs (like T-shirts, flyers or business cards).
Check your print settings. You probably have COLOR selected and the printer is trying to make blacks and grays with color inks instead of black ink.
Replace low, empty or faulty ink cartridges on your printer. Print a test page from your printer and check if the cyan colour is printing from your printer. Try cleaning the printheads with ethanol and check if it helps.
First, check your printer settings on the file or picture your trying to print. If your page is setup to print in “grayscale” it will only print in black and white. Change the setting to “default” so it will print in color. If your settings look good from the start, the cartridge may just need to be primed.
If your PC or the LCD screen on your printer is telling you that your ink cartridges are full but no ink is passing through to the paper, then it`s most likely that you are dealing with a clogged printhead. Blurry documents and images that appear faded are also signs that it`s time to remove the excess ink.
CYMK Profile

When designing for a printed format, the best color profile to use is CMYK, which uses the base colors of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Key (or Black). These colors are usually expressed as percentages of each base color, for example a deep plum color would be expressed like this: C=74 M=89 Y=27 K=13.

Because there are no methods for printing in RGB, no matter where you print you must convert your project to a printable format (CMYK). This is a crucial step in the printing process and affects how well your colors are represented in the final product.
CMYK values range from 0% to 100%. All color models can only display a limited gamut (range) of colors compared to the actual visible spectrum of color. RGB has a wider gamut than CMYK, which means that not all RGB colors can be reproduced in CMYK (i.e. not all colors on screen can be reproduced in printed ink).
Ever wonder why your prints sometimes appear faded or streaky? It`s usually because the printhead inside your printer is clogged or dried out. Like with most printers, Canon printheads can clog due to ink or dust drying up and collecting in the nozzle.
Run a nozzle check to see if any of the print head nozzles are clogged. Then clean the print head, if necessary. The ink cartridges may be old or low on ink, and you may need to replace them. Your printed colors can never exactly match your on-screen colors.
Please reinsert the cyan ink tank. Make sure that the light is lit. If it does not, please remove the ink tank and look in the slot to make sure that there is nothing in the slot that is causing the cyan ink tank to not be recognized. If the issue persists, your PIXMA MX922 would require service.
