With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Now, open and then close the cartridge access door of your printer. Make sure the cartridge is closed tightly. Repeat the exercise for your input tray and ADF door.
The error message Cover is open indicates that the top cover, the fuser cover or the ADF (automatic document feeder) cover of your Brother machine is not completely closed.
If you still receive the error message Cover is Open, the scanner cover support and scanner cover damper may have not be mounted correctly. The scanner cover support is the bar to support the scanner cover when you lift the scanner cover into the open position.
Most printers – inkjet and laser – include an outer cover that protects the paper-handling and output mechanisms while they operate.
To close the Scanning Unit / Cover safely (for instance, after replacing or installing ink, or after removing a paper jam inside the machine), lift the Scanning Unit / Cover slightly, let go and allow the Scanning Unit / Cover to close on its own.
Canon printers produce error codes for one of several reasons: The settings for your printer might not be compatible with the document you`re trying to print. The loading bay for your paper might have become lodged with paper or you`re using the wrong type of paper.
If your printer`s status displays “Printer in error state,” there may be a problem with the printer itself. Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to your PC by Wi-Fi or cable. Check it for low paper or ink, and be sure the cover isn`t open and the paper isn`t jammed.
If the printer`s outer case is dirty or dusty, turn off the printer and clean it with a soft, clean cloth dampened with a mild detergent. Caution: Never use alcohol or thinner to clean the printer cover; these chemicals can damage the components and the case.
If the message `Cover is Open` still appears on the display, then turn the machine off for 5 seconds using the power switch located on the right hand side. Then turn the power switch back on.
If the printer will be not be used for an extended period of time, protect it with an anti-static cloth or other cover. The print head nozzles can become clogged if fine dust gets on the print head, and you may not be able to print properly.
This usually occurs when one or more toners are not fully seated. Most times it is the black cartridge lock on the left side breaks so the black toner cartridge is sitting a bit out on the left side and the door will not close. Easy to tell. Just remove all the toners and see if you can close the door.
It`s commonly used after bleaching or lightening hair to neutralize any unwanted tones, such as yellow or orange, and create a more natural-looking color.
With the printer powered on, select Setup . Select Device settings . Scroll to the bottom of the menu list and select Reset settings.
