You may need to update your printer/scanner driver. Connectivity is a possible issue – make sure any cables are secure, such as a USB connection. If your connection is wireless, be sure your Canon scanner is connecting to your WiFi – there should be an indication of communication on your scanner panel.
It`s usually because the printhead inside your printer is clogged or dried out. Like with most printers, Canon printheads can clog due to ink or dust drying up and collecting in the nozzle.
First check your connection to the scanner and computer: Make sure your scanner`s AC adapter is securely connected to the scanner and a working electrical outlet. Make sure the interface cable is securely connected to the scanner and your computer, and that the cable is not damaged or crimped.
More often than not, repeated “paper jams” are a false alarm caused by accumulated dirt or ink on the image sensor that cause the scanner to stop. Simply cleaning the scanner can solve this problem.
Cartridge or Toner Issues
Low, empty or malfunctioning toner cartridges can cause issues within your copy machine. If toner or cartridges are low or empty, replacing them should resolve the problem.
Press <Management Settings> <Data Management> <Initialize All Data/Settings>. Press <Yes>. Initialization is performed. After the process is complete, the machine restarts and the Initialize All Data/Settings Report is printed.
You need it powered on so your computer can detect it. Connect your scanner to your computer with a USB cable. Using the USB cable that came with your scanner, plug it into an open USB port on your computer. If you don`t have a USB cable that came with your scanner, usually any USB cable will work.
IJ Scan Utility is an application that allows you to easily scan photos, documents, etc. You can complete from scanning to saving at one time by simply clicking the corresponding icon in the IJ Scan Utility main screen.

Low-quality paper leaves an accumulation of tiny paper bits often referred to as “paper dust” inside the machine. This “dust” is one of the top causes of paper jams. More dust means more jams. Besides jams, the dust also contributes to poor-quality prints and causes machine parts to wear at a faster rate.
Did you know most copier paper jams are caused by the paper itself? Misaligned paper. When a stack of paper isn`t aligned properly in the machine, it often causes a paper jam issue. When adding a ream of paper, always fan the paper, load carefully and avoid overstuffing the tray.
Make sure you don`t overload the tray. A good way to stop the printer becoming jammed, is to fan the paper before you put it in the tray as this will shake out any dust and reduce static, which are two major causes of paper jams. Another way to avoid a printer paper jam is to keep your machine clean.
With the printer powered on, select Setup . Select Device settings . Scroll to the bottom of the menu list and select Reset settings.
The hard reset helps you restore your Canon printer back to its default factory configuration. Here`s how to perform a hard reset: Step 1: Press and hold the “Stop” button on your Canon printer until you hear the alarm ringing. Step 2: Release the “Start” button only after the alarm flashes or rings at least 19 times.
While the printer is on, unplug the power cord from the printer. While the power is off, press the power button 5 times. After 60 seconds plug the power cord back in and power on the printer.

Use Windows Update
Windows Update might find an updated version of your printer driver. To use it: Select Start , then select Settings > Windows Update. Select Check for updates.
Press (Status Monitor). Press <Send> <Job Status>. Check the statuses. Selecting a document and pressing <Details> enables you to check detailed information such as destinations and the number of pages.
As a baseline, however, five years seems to be a generally accepted average lifespan for a typical floor-standing copier used regularly. At maximum, high-end copiers and floor-standing models that are not used often may last up to seven to 10 years.
One of the most common causes of paper jams is that the paper has simply not been loaded correctly into the printer paper feed. With this in mind, remove any paper from the tray in order to check for any jams. If you do see some paper jammed, pull each sheet out of the printer slowly until the printer is clear again.

canon mx320 copies have blk line down the right side of copies
ANSWER : If you are using the ADF feeder to make copies, then check the small glass on the left side. If there is any dirt or whiteout on the glass, it will result in a line down that spot. You can confirm it by looking at the copy that has the line. If it is dirt on the glass, the line won’t go all the way from top to bottom. There will be a margin on each end.

ANSWER : I was never able to fix the Canon Pixma after receiving the error message. I tossed it and bought an Epson Artisan 837 for its capabilities. I am still using the Epson with no problems. I also bought an Epson Workforce 545 and am still using it too.

My printer feeds through one piece of paper all the way and then a half piece of paper and stops. I pull out the paper to stop the paper jam and then it prints but sounds rough. After printing, it doesn't feed the paper all the way through.
