Canon ImageClass MF4450
Was working fine.. No error messages, just puts out a clean sheet of paper, won’t copy either. I replaced the cartridge and still nothing. Scanner still works. Does not appear to be a driver or software problem.. hmmm…
Experienced technical support provide their insights in answering this question :
If the sheets are blank, both from printing and copying and no error message, that points to a lack of high voltage. The high voltage is not checked at any time and that would explain the lack of a message. High voltage charges both the toner cartridge and the paper to pull down the toner to its surface. Lack of high voltage at either point would result in a blank page. You could isolate it by printing a page and stopping it halfway through by opening the door to the cartridge. Pull the cartridge out and look at the drum surface and see if there is any print on it. If there is, then there isn’t any hv to the charge transfer roller. If there isn’t, then there is no hv to the cartridge, probably none to the transfer either. In that case, I would suspect a HV board.
How to Identify and Fix Common printer Problems ?
Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced technical support :
It`s usually because the printhead inside your printer is clogged or dried out. Like with most printers, Canon printheads can clog due to ink or dust drying up and collecting in the nozzle.
Answer: There can be several reasons why your Canon printer keeps going offline. It could be due to a loose USB or network cable connection, outdated printer drivers, issues with the printer spooler service, or even wireless connectivity problems.
Simply turn the printer off with the power button on the printer. Once turned off, disconnect the printer`s power cord from the back of the printer. Wait approximately 30 seconds before you reconnect it. Once reconnected, use the printer`s power button to turn the printer back on.
Turning the power ON/OFF while the print monitor screen is displayed may cause the printer driver to go off-line and make printing impossible. In this case, open the [Printers / Printers and Faxes / Devices and Printers] folder on the computer and check if your printer driver is shown as off-line.
Check that the correct paper is properly loaded into the printer and is not jammed. Replacing damaged cables, plugging in loose or disconnected cables, and fixing paper jams as necessary may resolve the issue.
Printers pause when they need attention. Whether your device ran out of paper or one or more of its ink or toner cartridges needs replacement, it stops printing pages until you replenish its supplies.
If there is plenty of ink and the printer does not print, clean the Print Head then print the nozzle check pattern to ensure ink is ejected properly. If the problem is not resolved after performing Print Head Cleaning twice, carry out the Print Head Deep Cleaning.
Do a hard reset on your printer. To do this you just need to turn off your printer, unplug for a few minutes and then plug the printer again. If that still doesn`t work, try turning the printer and your computer off, and then start it back up again. Try uninstalling and then reinstalling your printer driver.
With the printer powered on, select Setup . Select Device settings . Scroll to the bottom of the menu list and select Reset settings.
The Print Spooler is software built into the Windows operating system that temporarily stores print jobs in the computer`s memory until the printer is ready to print them. In some circumstances you may need to stop and/or restart the service.
If you try to use the printer after it has been out of use for a long time, it may not print properly even if head cleaning is carried out several times. If this is the case, carry out head flushing. If the print heads are still clogged, leave the printer for about ten minutes, and then print the nozzle check pattern.
The Maintenance tab allows you to perform printer maintenance or change the settings of the printer. Performs print head cleaning. Print head cleaning removes any blockage in the print head nozzles.
Fix this problem by removing the cartridge and injecting more ink into the sponge through the exit hole. Air bubbles also can get trapped inside the cartridge, blocking ink flow. Allow the cartridge to sit unused for about an hour to give the bubble a chance to dislodge by itself.
If you connect the printer to your computer via a USB cable, check whether the cable is properly connected. If it isn`t, re-plug it and make sure they are properly seated into the ports on both your printer and your computer. Try another USB port on your computer in case the one you previously used is broken.

Canon Pixma MP610 won't print in black
ANSWER : Printer cleanings use wet ink to clear dried up ink. Yeah, that works real well. The best way to clean the heads is remove all the ink tanks. Next to the tanks on the right, there is a plastic release lever. Pull up on it and it will release the heads. Reach in and pull them out. Take the heads over to the sink and run hot tap water into the screen for the black and then turn it over and run it over the heads on the bottom. Repeat a few times and reinstall.
