When the message “Ink absorber full.” is displayed, the printer stops printing and needs ink absorber replacement. Push the power button to turn OFF the printer, and then contact the service center for replacement. Request either Canon or the dealer you purchased the machine for a repair service.
Press and hold the “Power” button and reconnect the power cord. When the printer comes on, release the button. Wait five seconds and push the “Power” button again. This resets the printer`s internal memory and overrides the “Ink Absorber Full” error code.
Ink cartridges can dry out over time. If they are sitting in your machine for an extended period, they will eventually dry up and become unusable. The simplest way to combat this problem is by printing more frequently or running regular cleans and ink tests to ensure the nozzles remain clean.
Ink absorber absorbs the ink used when Cleaning is executed. In order to maintain the best printing, the ink used when Cleaning is absorbed into the ink absorber inside the printer. The ink absorber requires the replacement when it is full. However, it cannot be replaced by yourself.
If you accidentally spill or scatter toner, carefully wipe up the loose toner with a damp, soft cloth and avoid inhaling any toner dust. Do not use a vacuum cleaner that is not equipped with safety measures to prevent dust explosions to clean up loose toner.
The purpose of the waste ink absorber is to safely collect any waste ink expelled during cleaning of the print head and borderless printing on photo printers. Over time this waste ink absorber can become full and will need to be replaced.
The sponge end of a blocked printer head can be cleaned with only one liquid other than water. This liquid is isopropyl alcohol. Isopropyl alcohol isn`t strong enough to melt the sponge but is still strong enough to dissolve the ink inside the blocked printer head.
This error occurs due to the chip on your cartridge still reporting a low or empty ink level from its previous use. The chip itself cannot be reset, so when the cartridge is refilled and then installed into a new machine it will still register as empty.
How long does Canon ink last? Canon ink can last for up to two years in its sealed packaging. Even after two years, you may still get some more life out of the cartridge, so it may be worth trying after the fact.

waste ink tank
ANSWER : There is no waste ink “tank”. There are some sponges and they usually are about 1/4 saturated when you get the message. If you want to go through the trouble to remove them, you can just wash them in hot water and dry them out as the ink is water soluble. Or, you can search the web for a waste tank reset procedure and not worry about it.

ip4200 INK TANK RESET and WASTE TANK RESET
ANSWER : Different cartridges, notwithstanding, don’t have a ‘fill gap’ so you’ll have to make one yourself. Our refill units for these sorts of cartridges accompany a smolder apparatus which is utilized to blaze (really dissolve) a fill opening in the cartridge . Our refill guidelines will demonstrate you precisely where to make the fill opening (you would prefer not to make it in the wrong spot).
