Error code E05

This error code may cause an orange light on your machine to blink 5 times and is caused by the print head not being installed at all or it may have been installed incorrectly.

If the flash still does not release and you continue to see Err 05, then the camera will need to be repaired. To start the repair process, you`ll need to complete a Repair Request on our website. If the camera is more than a year old, you may also participate in the Canon Loyalty Program instead.
You can check the status of the machine by the ON and Alarm lamps. ON lamp is off: The power is off. ON lamp lights: The machine is ready to print. ON lamp flashes: The machine is getting ready to print, or printing is in progress. Alarm lamp flashes: An error has occurred and the machine is not ready to print.
When an error occurs in printing such as the machine is out of paper or paper is jammed, a troubleshooting message is displayed automatically. Take the appropriate action described in the message. When an error occurs, the Alarm lamp flashes orange and a Support Code (error number) is displayed on the computer screen.
The Canon Printer Error Code E05 indicates that the ink cartridge is not installed properly. There are several ways to fix this error, including checking the ink cartridge for damage and making sure it is properly seated in the printer. You can also try cleaning the contacts on the ink cartridge and printer.
An E05 error on the Smart AC Control indicates an issue with the internet connection. The hostname could not resolve to the Internet Protocol (IP) address using the Domain Name System (DNS).

Canon printers produce error codes for one of several reasons: The settings for your printer might not be compatible with the document you`re trying to print. The loading bay for your paper might have become lodged with paper or you`re using the wrong type of paper.
If the ink tank is refilled because it runs out of ink, perform system cleaning. From operation panel: To perform system cleaning, press and hold the Stop button until the Alarm lamp flashes 5 times, and then release the button.
