The printer driver may not be installed correctly. Uninstall and re-install the printer driver. Make sure that there is a direct connection between the printer and USB port of the computer. Reboot the computer with the printer`s USB cable unattached and reconnect the cable once the computer has restarted.
You may need to update your printer/scanner driver. Connectivity is a possible issue – make sure any cables are secure, such as a USB connection. If your connection is wireless, be sure your Canon scanner is connecting to your WiFi – there should be an indication of communication on your scanner panel.
Check Cables and Printer USB Ports

Check all cable connections (including the power cord) on the printer side. If the printer does have power and you`ve properly connected the communication cable, but the printer is still not recognized, try switching to a different USB port on the PC.

Verify your scanner is installed

If you want to see if your scanner is installed, make sure that your scanner is turned on and use the Open the Printers & scanners settings button, or follow these steps: Select Start > Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners. Under Printers & devices, look for your scanner.

Canon printers produce error codes for one of several reasons: The settings for your printer might not be compatible with the document you`re trying to print. The loading bay for your paper might have become lodged with paper or you`re using the wrong type of paper.
Ink absorber absorbs the ink used when Cleaning is executed. In order to maintain the best printing, the ink used when Cleaning is absorbed into the ink absorber inside the printer.
Connect your printer via a USB cable

Simply plug one end of the cable into the USB port on the Canon printer and the other into the USB port on your computer. Then, plug in the power cable and turn on the printer.

Press (Settings/Registration) → [Preferences] → [External Interface] → [USB Settings] → [Use MEAP Driver for USB External Device].
The easiest way to connect the Canon printer to the computer is via a USB cable. It`s the traditional method of connecting devices. One end of the USB remains connected to the printer, and the other must be connected to the computer`s USB port.
Sometimes power cycling your printer can resolve the issue. Turn off your printer and unplug it, wait 30 seconds, plug your printer back in, and then turn the printer back on.
