Canon i455 new printhead won't print

It`s usually because the printhead inside your printer is clogged or dried out. Like with most printers, Canon printheads can clog due to ink or dust drying up and collecting in the nozzle.

If your PC or the LCD screen on your printer is telling you that your ink cartridges are full but no ink is passing through to the paper, then it`s most likely that you are dealing with a clogged printhead. Blurry documents and images that appear faded are also signs that it`s time to remove the excess ink.

If the printer says the cartridge is damaged or will still not recognise the cartridge then remove the cartridge and gently wipe the copper area or the cartridge with a dry soft cloth (the area known as the `chip`) to remove any static that may have accumulated on it and re-insert to see if it will solve the problem.

If you`re still experiencing Canon ink cartridge cannot be recognized, try to hold down the Stop/Cancel button for 15 seconds. It`s a circle with a triangle inside.

In Windows, go to Printer Properties > Maintenance > Clean Heads > OK and follow on-screen prompts.

Press the button on the chip-reset tool for several seconds until the LED light on the device goes off. Then, unlock the reset tool from the cartridge. Use the resetter with other cartridges and install them back into the corresponding slots in your printer. Voila!

How to Reset Canon Pixma Ink Cartridge. In many cases, you can press and hold the “ok” or “resume” button on the front of the printer for about 10 seconds. This prompts resetting Canon ink cartridge and should allow you to continue printing.

Missing colours, streaky prints, smudges and ink blotches are all signs that your printer ink or toner cartridge may be damaged. Some printers will actually warn you if a cartridge is damaged and will refuse to print. This includes HP ink cartridges, Samsung toner cartridges and Canon ink cartridges.

You can solve this problem by following these solutions: Make sure that you have installed the ink cartridges correctly as instructed in your manual. Perform a deep cleaning process for your Canon printer to unclog nozzles. Update your Canon printer`s driver or you can just reinstall it.
