Eight flashes:Ink absorber is almost full

The ink absorber is almost full. Press the printer`s RESUME/CANCEL button to continue printing. Contact the service center.

Four flashes: Ink tank is not installed properly./Ink may have run out. If the lamp on the ink tank is not lit, the ink tank may not be installed properly. Install an appropriate canon ink cartridge.
Paper output tray is closed. Feed slot cover is open. Manual feed tray is in the paper jam clearing position. Cannot print on a printable disc.
Meaning: the paper exit tray is closed / Paper jam. Solution: the paper is jammed. Remove the jammed paper, replace the paper correctly in the printer, and then press the Resume / Cancel button.
Ink may have run out (The lamp on the ink tank flashes). If printing is in progress, you are recommended to stop printing, replace the ink tank, and then print again.
ON lamp flashes: The printer is getting ready to print, or printing is in progress. Alarm lamp flashes: An error has occurred and the printer is not ready to print. ON lamp flashes and Alarm lamp flashes alternately: An error that requires contacting the service center may have occurred.
– ON lamp flashes green: The machine is getting ready to print, or printing is in progress. – Alarm lamp flashes orange: An error has occurred and the machine is not ready to print. – ON lamp flashes green and Alarm lamp flashes orange alternately: An error that requires contacting the service center may have occurred.
Check to make sure there are no paper jams or other obstructions. Unplug the printer for approximately two minutes, then plug it back in.
When an error occurs in printing such as the machine is out of paper or paper is jammed, a troubleshooting message is displayed automatically. Take the appropriate action described in the message. When an error occurs, the Alarm lamp flashes orange and a Support Code (error number) is displayed on the computer screen.
Three flashes: Paper jam

The paper may be jammed. Remove the jammed paper, reload paper properly in the printer, and then press the RESUME/CANCEL button.

It`s usually because the printhead inside your printer is clogged or dried out. Like with most printers, Canon printheads can clog due to ink or dust drying up and collecting in the nozzle.
If your router is blinking orange, it is likely getting an upgrade and you should give it time before doing anything. However, if your internet is unavailable or slow, it can get stuck and the blinking will not stop. Resetting the router and the modem normally resolves the problem and restores the connection.
If the Status light remains yellow for several minutes before printing the first page of a document or if the Status light flashes green for several minutes while the printer warms up, then the Drum Condensation Countermeasure Mode has been enabled.
Your printer estimates how full the absorber is by keeping record of how many pages have been printed, how many cleans have been performed and anything else that produces waste ink. Once it believes the ink absorber is getting full you will receive the Canon E08 message as we have already discussed.
Code E8 indicates the platen waste-ink absorber is full. To clear an E8 error, open the printer`s protective cover until the print head moves all the way to the left. Power down the printer and unplug it from the power source.
Are you wondering why my printer is showing orange light? It indicates firmware issues, paper jams, or improperly installed cartridges. Resolve it by performing a power reset of your printer. Take out the installed cartridges.

Canon PIXMA MP 210
ANSWER : Mine was grabbing the paper from the right side only (where the roller is), sucking the paper in partway and then going sideways and jamming. I cleaned off the roller to no avail. Then I picked the printer up and looked in the paper slot and found a small screwdriver lying sideways so deep you almost couldn’t see it. I got that out and now it works fine!
