I have an Epson Stylus Photo 1280 connected to my PC is running Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1. I recently downloaded and installed the latest driver from the Epson website. Filename: epson11889.exe 1.9 MB 12/21/2006

Make sure you selected the correct paper size and layout settings in your printing program and printer software. Make sure you selected the correct paper size on the control panel. Make sure your paper is positioned correctly for feeding into the printer. Slide the edge guides against the edges of the paper.
Left and right margins are always 3 mm.
Most desktop printers can`t print all the way to the edge, thus leaving you with a non-printable margin. While the exact dimensions vary from printer to printer, the limit for most models is 1/4″ (0.25″).

At 12 point, left and right page margins of 1.5–2.0″ will usually give you a comfortable line length.
Every printer is different, but general safe margins for each size are: 8.5 x 11: 0.25in on the top, left, and right, and possibly more on the bottom, like 0.5in. A4: 5mm on all sides, or 10mm to be extra safe. The bottom margin may also be bigger on this size.
so friends if you want to remove margins so firstly click on page layout. then click on margins. now click on custom margins. now friends anyhow you need to set margins in top bottom left and right zero.
The predefined margins include Normal, Narrow, and Moderate. Narrow space is 0.5 inches all around while moderate is 1 inch at the top and bottom, 0.75 on the sides.
Margin is of four types – Initial Margin, Maintenance Margin, Variation Margin, and Margin Call.

ANSWER : You may have to manually enter the IP address and assign a specific port number on the PC for the printer to work…I’ve had to do that occassionally.

ANSWER : Epson printers don’t like to sit unused. The printheads will clog with dried ink. Your only hope is to use a Printhead cleaning kit. The Printer’s built in cleaner uses wet ink to flush dried up ink. Yeah, that works real good. Here’s a good source for the kit. http://www.printheadcleaningkit.com/kits.html

cannot recognise new ink cartridge
ANSWER : I followed all the online hints I could find and none worked. So I got to looking at the cartridge ink window and noticed it had a little float inside that was stuck to the bottom. I gently turned it upside down several times to let the float move to the top of the ink tank. It took several try’s but it eventually stayed up about half way. I installed the cartridge again, making sure cartridge clicked in and printer began working.
