Power surge on the USB port – Unknown USB Device needs more power than the port can supply. A USB device has malfunctioned and exceeded the power limits of its hub port. You should disconnect the device.
If power surge on the USB port nothing plugged in appear on the screen, even after running the troubleshooter, then try installing the USB Controller drivers. It is possible that you are using the wrong drive, which led to the said error. First, uninstall the drivers and then follow the steps below to install it again.
A USB power surge could damage your computer – but it`s likely any damage is already done by the time you get the error. In general, though, you can probably fix it without damaging your computer. In fact, the error message is part of a process designed to prevent damage to your computer.
Power surges happen when there is a massive spike in your electrical system`s current. They only last about a fraction of a second, but can cause lifelong damages to any outlets or plugged-in appliances.
Update USB drivers on Windows

Then, type devmgmt. msc and click OK to open the Device Manager. After that, expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers category and right-click on the device with a problem. Select Update driver and choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

In the Device Manager dialog box, expand Universal Serial Bus controllers, right-click USB Root Hub, and then select Properties. In the USB Root Hub Properties dialog box, select the Power Management tab. The Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power check box is displayed.
USB power reset turns off USB port power for specified time. It is useful when 3G/LTE modem needs to be restarted but there is no physical access to it.
Power-off USB charging allows you to charge mobile devices using the designated USB port, even when the notebook is off or in Hibernation mode.
Power surges can present certain dangers. An overflow of electricity to an appliance may cause the appliance to overheat or break down. In some cases, the appliance may even catch fire. A fire is probably the most serious danger presented by power surges.
Power surges occur when the flow of electricity is interrupted, then started again, or when something sends electricity flowing back into the system. Surges can range from five or ten volts when you turn on your hair dryer to thousands of volts if lightning strikes a transformer.
To verify if the USB device is faulty, unplug the USB device from the computer and plug it into another computer. If the device is not detected and is not working on another known-good computer too, the USB device is faulty.
A strong surge can destroy any plugged-in electrical equipment. Due to their complexity, computers are particularly suspectable to damage from a power surge. While a blackout can cause a small amount of damage to a machine, a power surge can be catastrophic.
A surge test includes applying a surge or transient voltage to a device or system to evaluate its performance. An oscilloscope and a surge generator are frequently used as part of the test apparatus. The system or device being examined is exposed to a high-voltage transient produced by the surge generator.
To change USB preferences

Drag down the status bar, and then tap Android System next to (USB icon). Tap Tap for more options, and then select an option.

Power Supply: Powered USB hubs come with their own AC adapters and can run on an external power source. They do not take any power from your laptop. While unpowered USB hubs take all the power from your laptop or PC. Power Output: Every single USB port of a powered USB hub operates at a max power output of 2.5 watts.
Powered USB hubs provide their own power supply for devices. Typically, when you connect a device to your computer via USB, the device draws upon your computer`s power to function. Powered USB hubs come with their own power source and provide power for your connected devices so your computer doesn`t have to.
Individual power switches provide device independence and allow you to preserve power and prolong the lifespan of your devices while they are plugged into the hub.
Determining the cause of damage will help determine your best course of action. A simple repair kit may be all you need if the damage is limited to an external coating or electrical contact. However, if the damage is on the physical structure of the charger port, you need more extensive repairs.
You`re using a faulty phone charger

In some cases, a counterfeit or damaged charger or cable could end up harming your phone`s battery. Other times, a slow or faulty charger could lead to your battery draining faster than it can charge.

If you`re in a pinch, you may be tempted to select the emergency override option. As mentioned, you really shouldn`t do this. The emergency override option dismisses the alert and forces the phone to resume normal functionality. It will allow charging and complete use of the port, whether it`s wet or not.
The question is asked: β€œCan I cause damage by plugging my device into a USB charger that delivers more current than 500mA and 900mA?” The answer is no. The device only draws what it requires and no more. An analogy is plugging in a lamp or a toaster into an AC wall plug.
Once a surge protector has reached EOL, connected systems and devices are vulnerable to the same electrical surges and spikes the SPD was designed to protect. Since there is no average lifespan for a surge protector, it is important to inspect your SPDs regularly to verify they are still functional.
A power surge can originate inside your home when a current of electricity passes through an electrical device and exceeds the normal operating range. This higher-than-normal surge of power can result in an electrical arc and heat damaging or possibly destroying your electrical wiring and other components.
