How to Identify and Fix Common Problems ?
Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced technical support :
Start your web browser. Type “http://machine`s IP address” in your browser`s address bar (where “machine`s IP address” is the machine`s IP address). If you are using a Domain Name System or enable a NetBIOS name, you can type another name, such as “SharedPrinter” instead of the IP address.
The main culprits are: Weak Wi-Fi signal – Try moving your printer closer to the Wi-Fi router. Incorrect Wi-Fi network settings – See step 2. Software issues such as out-of-date firmware or drivers – See step 3.
The login name for the Administrator is ”admin” (case sensitive) and the default password is ”access”.
The network devices and connection cables on the network where your PC and the Brother machine are connected may not work correctly. Verify the Link LED of your router or hub to make sure they work without any problems. If the Link LED turns on or blinks, the network devices and connection cables work correctly.
Right-click on the printer icon and select `properties` from the menu. Find the `general` tab within the properties menu and then look for the `location` field. The numbers that appear to the right of this field make up your printer`s IP address.
Make sure your router is on and connected to the internet. If you have another device on the same router, make sure it can connect to the internet. If the router is not connected to the internet, contact your network service provider. Check the printer connection to the router.
Plug the cable into your printer and your computer`s USB port. The direct linking should trigger your computer to recognize the printer and start up the software needed to complete the installation. If your computer is still unresponsive, make sure you have enabled automatic device installations.
The current IP address of the printer is displayed and a flashing cursor will be at the first IP address setting. The default IP address for a Brother printer is 192.0.
Press the `+` key until you see “MENU” “INFORMATION” Press the `SET` key. Use the `+` or `-` keys until you see “INFORMATION” “PRINT SETTINGS” Press the `SET` key and the print configuration pages are printed.
Place the document to be scanned on the scanner glass (Flatbed) or Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), depending on the model of your Brother machine. Press the Scan key on the Brother machine and select Scan to PC -> File, or Scan to File.
