The HP LaserJet 1018, 1020, and 1022 series printers have two-sided printing capability. Printing on both sides of the paper, or duplexing, can be done manually by running the paper through the printer twice. To print on both sides of the paper (manual two-sided printing), follow the instructions below.
Right-click HP LaserJet 1020 Series logo, and choose “Sharing…” Click Share this printer, type the printer name in the Share name text box. note: If the printer name is more than 12 characters, the printer may not be recognized by some networked printers.
Right-click the printer icon ( ) for your HP product. Click Printing Preferences, and then click the Features tab. In the Paper Saving Options area, select Automatic from the Two-sided printing drop-down list. Adjust other print settings as needed.
Duplex printing means that you can print on both sides of the paper with your printer either automatically or manually by turning the paper over after the first side has printed.
Select the Start button, then select Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners. Choose the printer you want to share, then select Manage. Select Printer Properties, then choose the Sharing tab. On the Sharing tab, select Share this printer.
Printing on both sides of paper is called duplex printing. Most printers offer the option of automatically printing on both sides of a sheet of paper (automatic duplex printing). Other printers provide instructions so that you can manually reinsert pages to print the second side (manual duplex printing).
If you don`t see a Print on Both Sides pane, then your selected printer doesn`t support duplex printing. Or, the feature is turned off (see Verify that printer features are turned on). Click OK, and then click OK again to print.
HP® is proud to offer both inkjet printers and laser printers that are capable of double-sided printing.
Reduce the amount of paper you use by copying onto both sides of the paper.
1-Sided Print prints on one side of the media. Use this option when printing on transparencies, envelopes, labels, or other media that cannot be printed on both sides. 2-Sided Print prints the job on both sides of the paper to allow binding on the long edge of the paper.
Many large networks, or even smaller networks with a legacy design, can have more than one print server. Reasons for separating printers across servers/systems include: Legacy design – That`s the way the previous admin set it up.
When the wireless setting is enabled, the wired (Ethernet) setting is disabled. When the wired (Ethernet) setting is enabled, the wireless setting is disabled. Note this only refers to the network connection, the USB connection can be used at teh same time as either a wired or wireless netwokr connection.
Printer Sharing – Allows computers that are part of the main network to send print jobs to a printer connected wired or via WiFi to your computer.
A printer pool is simply a group of 2 or more printers that use the same logical printer on your computer. In other words you would install a printer in your Printers and Faxes folder and have it connect to more than one physical printer.
In the Devices and Printers window click on Add a printer. Choose “Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings”, then click Next. Select Create a new port and choose Standard TCP/IP Port, then click Next. Under Hostname or IP address: Type in the IP address of the printer you intend to connect to.
HP+ printers are cloud-connected devices that must remain connected to the Internet in order to function. The Internet connection enables the printer to deliver HP+ specific app features and firmware updates. During setup, you must connect the printer to the Internet by Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
A user can print to a printer that is on the same network, but the traffic of the user cannot reach the Internet. What is a possible cause of the problem? The PC default gateway address is missing or incorrect.
Go to control panel, devices and printers, right click the icon for the printer and from the drop down menu select printer properties. On the window that opens click advanced and then printer defaults and turn off duplex. Do the same for printer preferences on the general tab.
• Flip on long edge will print the pages so that you flip them side-to-side like you would. for an up-right book or binder (ie. – along the long edge black arrow). • Flip on short edge will print the pages so that you flip them over the top as you would. for a calendar (ie./ – along the short edge red arrow).
Duplex print devices, depending on options, software, and printer settings, can print single-sided page to single-sided page (1:1) or double-sided page to double-sided page (2:2). Many can also combine single-sided pages into a double-sided page format (1:2).
Unless your printer has a built-in duplexer, it probably requires manual intervention to print on both sides of paper or card stock such as index cards. Once your printer prints the first side of each card, it stops while you move the cards from the output tray to the input tray.
Not only can you print on cardstock with an inkjet printer, but you can achieve really great results. Many inkjet printers can print on thick card as are versatile enough to print photo lab quality photos and graphics.
Right-click the printer icon ( ) for your HP product. Click Printing Preferences, and then click the Features tab. In the Paper Saving Options area, select Automatic from the Two-sided printing drop-down list. Adjust other print settings as needed.

Print file sent but no printing occurs
ANSWER : Been working on these since they first were released. Never seen a problem like yours. If it happens again, try doing an engine test, as it bypasses the formatter board. The engine test is located at the right side of the manual tray opening. Look for a hole in the side wall. Stick something like a paper clip into it to actuate the test button. It will then print a lined test page. If it does that, then it points to the formatter board as the cause of your problem.

Prints blank pages, won't print from computer
ANSWER : Don’t know why you replaced the fuser, but assuming you had print before, then it must have been something you did during the procedure. Only thing I can suggest is to recheck your work. Just because you reinstalled a connector doesn’t mean that it is seated firmly enough to work. Any flat ribbon connectors that you removed and reinstalled, check to see that the contacts are all flat and not peeled back.
