Verify the ink cartridge(s) is inserted properly. Some cartridges snap in place, and if they are not inserted fully, the printer won`t print anything. If a lever is moved from its original position to allow for installation of ink cartridges, ensure it is returned to its original position.
Do not remove or tear the label on the cartridge; this can cause leakage. Do not remove the transparent seal from the bottom of the cartridge; otherwise, the cartridge may become unusable. Do not disassemble or remodel the ink cartridge, otherwise you may not be able to print normally.
Why does my HP printer keep saying cartridge problem? Please check and wipe the cartridge contacts. The common cause of the cartridge problem message is the gold contacts found on an electronic chip on the body of the HP cartridge being cloaked with dirt or ink or even because of physical damage.
Your printer may not recognize the new ink cartridge, or the ink counter may read it as empty. Many printers have a cartridge reset feature that forces the machine to recognize the cartridge as new.
There`s a chance that the printhead hasn`t been installed properly or has been clogged with dried ink or debris. If this is the case, then cleaning your printhead may resolve the HP ink system error.
Missing colours, streaky prints, smudges and ink blotches are all signs that your printer ink or toner cartridge may be damaged. Some printers will actually warn you if a cartridge is damaged and will refuse to print. This includes HP ink cartridges, Samsung toner cartridges and Canon ink cartridges.
Most commonly “Cartridge Problem” means that your HP printer simply cannot recognise the colour or black ink cartridges. Thankfully however this error message can usually be cleared with some basic troubleshooting.
Ink cartridges can usually last two or three years if properly packaged and stored. But in a standard case, they will eventually dry out and become useless after this period. However, many major ink cartridge makers don`t put expiration dates on their cartridges.
You can continue to print with one or more empty cartridges, but HP recommends replacing them as soon as possible to avoid printhead damage.
The replacement toner is already used in another printer
A used toner cartridge will have the reset lever. But because it has been used in another printer already, its reset lever will not be in the right position to activate the printer to reset the toner level. Please use a new, unused replacement toner cartridge.
Your printer may be printing pink as the other ink cartridges have run out. Common printer-to-page technology processes colour in four parts; cyan, magenta, yellow and black (CMYK), or toner. The ink cartridges in your inkjet or colour laser printer are split up into four colours.
This error message is usually the result of a cartridge that is not firmly seated in its designated slot. To troubleshoot the problem, begin by completely removing the cartridge from its port. Reinstall the cartridge by positioning it so that it snaps into place and is securely fastened in its slot.
Resetting HP Ink Cartridges. There is no reset button on an ink cartridge by HP either. However, the process of its resetting is similar to an entertaining game, and if done correctly, you`ll be back to printing in only a few minutes. Remove your cartridge from the printer and refill it with ink if needed.
The shelf life for an original printer cartridge is 24 months and the shelf life for a compatible cartridge is 36 months. Over time, ink dries out and settles inside the cartridge, which can cause your printer to clog.
You`ll know fairly quickly if your printhead is causing you problems. If your PC or the LCD screen on your printer is telling you that your ink cartridges are full but no ink is passing through to the paper, then it`s most likely that you are dealing with a clogged printhead.
In some cases, printer toner can cause skin or eye irritation. This is only temporary, and usually, very mild. The MSDS will likely recommend rinsing of the exposed skin in the case of a spill. For eye contact with printer toner, you may wish to use an eyewash station or kit.
HP cartridges and inks generally have a low level of oral toxicity.
Among the more common technical issues that may bring down a printer are disconnected cables, malfunctioning routers, and low ink levels. Moreover, software problems such as interrupted connections or incorrect settings in your system`s drivers can also cause your printer to show up as offline.
These cartridges need to be replaced once they run out. Traditional cartridge printers are not ideal for occasional printing. The ink in the cartridges can dry up rendering the cartridge useless. In such cases, you have to replace the entire cartridge which is an expensive thing to do.
Faulty and damaged ink cartridges can have bad effects on your print quality and on your printer. Streaks, smudges, and blotches of ink are signs that your cartridge has gotten damaged.
After all, expired printer cartridges from HP can be used without any problems even one to two years beyond the expiration date without any restrictions. However, once the printer cartridges are even older, you should overlook using them. This is especially true if your printer has a standalone print head.
It may be time to replace! If the printhead cleaning or rocking the cartridge did not work, it is likely time to replace your printer cartridge. Printer cartridges only have about a two year shelf life in their sealed package, and a far shorter lifespan if they are sitting idle in your printer.
Printing on 5% = 480 pages (the official page yield). Printing on 10% = 240 pages. Printing on 20% = 120 pages. Printing on 40% = 60 pages.
Can you print with one or two empty ink cartridges? The quick answer is: Yes, you can (if you own a printer model that allows it) — but you shouldn`t keep printing with an empty cartridge for too long.
