If your printer`s status displays “Printer in error state,” there may be a problem with the printer itself. Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to your PC by Wi-Fi or cable. Check it for low paper or ink, and be sure the cover isn`t open and the paper isn`t jammed.
The printer is either low in toner, the density is set too low, or the Economode may be turned on. Remove the toner cartridge and shake it. This will redistribute the toner and often will temporarily solve the problem. However, this usually indicates it is time to install a new cartridge.
Perform an alignment
Open the HP Smart app, and then click the printer image. Click Print Quality Tools, and then select Align or Align Printheads. If prompted by the software or printer control panel to scan the Alignment Page, follow the instructions on the page to complete the alignment.
Make sure your devices are properly connected with each other, and the network or the cable you use to connect these devices is normal. You can also try restarting your HP printer. Turn it off completely and unplug the power cord, leave it for a couple of minutes, and then plug the cord back and power on the printer.
Common factors include driver problems, software issues, hardware failures and overuse.
This is a common laser printer problem. Primary causes include grime, dust, worn rollers, or incorrect paper weight. The most basic way to prevent paper jams is simply through regular cleaning of your printer. Also, replace parts as needed.
Turn off the HP printer and unplug it from the power source. Also, shut down your computer and unplug any external devices. Wait for a few minutes and then plug in the printer and turn it back on. Finally, turn on your computer and check if the error state has been resolved.
Check that the correct paper is properly loaded into the printer and is not jammed. Replacing damaged cables, plugging in loose or disconnected cables, and fixing paper jams as necessary may resolve the issue.
The error indicates a carriage jam issue. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Wait at least 60 seconds.
Chances are, this error code is caused by the scanner, a burned-out motor, or a burned-out lamp. The most likely cause, and the easiest to fix, is that the scanner cannot move. For an explanation of how to fix this as well as demonstrations, you can watch this video from my YouTube channel.
