How to Identify and Fix Common Problems ?

Here are the most common causes of a printer printing faded text or images: Low ink or toner levels. Toner sticking to the fuser roller or problems with the transfer roller. Low ink or toner density settings.
Increase Print Density For Windows
Navigate to Settings > Printers and scanners > Devices in the left-hand menu. Choose your printer from the list of options and click Manage. A dialog box will pop up. Switch to Device Settings, and increase the print density from 1-5 as you wish to darken the text.
If you can see missing short lines in any of the four color blocks press 2 (NO) and repeat the quality check and cleaning process. Repeat this procedure at least 5 times if print quality remains a problem. If short lines are still missing after the fifth cleaning and test print, replace the necessary ink cartridges.
A common cause of faded, faint printouts from your inkjet printer is dried ink particles causing a blockage in your printer. The printheads on an ink cartridge can be become blocked if the printer is not used for a period of time, so it is recommended to print a few pages each month to maintain the print quality.
By default, the Brother machine is designed to conserve ink. This will result in text documents appearing gray, dull, or faded instead of black. If you would like text to appear black, please complete the following steps: NOTE: With these settings, more ink will be used than when using default settings.
In four-color press printing, black is achieved by mixing cyan, magenta and yellow and then adding black ink on top of that. The result is a rich, deep black color.
Dark Mode can help to reduce eye strain and also provides a more modern feel to Word. The dark page background does not convey how your document will print, or the default view your collaborators will see when they open it.
The correct answer is CTRL + B. Ctrl + B is used for making the text look darker in MS Word.
The Bold button on home tab makes the text darker than the rest of the text.
When designing for a printed format, the best color profile to use is CMYK, which uses the base colors of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Key (or Black). These colors are usually expressed as percentages of each base color, for example a deep plum color would be expressed like this: C=74 M=89 Y=27 K=13.
Press [Settings]>[Maintenance]>[Print Setting Options]. Select this option according to whether you are using 1-sided or 2-sided printing if you have problems with smudged printouts or paper jams. Select this option if you use a type of plain paper on which ink dries slowly.
Your printer not printing dark enough can be a symptom of incorrect printer settings, a defective printer component, or a defective toner cartridge.

Thanks to this forum for bringing it to my attention. So far this printer has been working for over 10 years and the parts are cheaper now.

my fax-2840, give me a error that says print unable EC.
ANSWER : Exhaust fan error. If you put your hand over it and don’t feel air coming out, it’s usually dirt or something keeping it from spinning. It almost never goes bad needing replacement. Try blowing it out first. Read this post
