8F means either a paper tore inside while it was printing and jammed, or some other mechanical malfunction has occurred. Open your printer, take out the toner, and the back panel if there is one. Look inside to see if you see anything jammed or stuck.

ANSWER : The industry says that at least once a month you should print something, even a test print page to avoid the ink drying up in the print heads. Most printers including Brother will turn themselves on occasionally to clean themselves. I do not recommend refilling your ink cartridges yourself. You can buy ‘non-OEM compatible refilled’ ink cartridges for you printers very cheaply but not all that make/sell these are of the same quality. So if this is of interest to you then you need to shop around until you find a good & reputable compatible non-OEM ink seller.

Brother MFC 7220 "back cover open" error
ANSWER : Just googled this problem and delved into the innards of the machine. Lo and behold, there was a piece of paper stuck there and I have removed it (with difficulty). So it wasn’t “back cover” at all (which I kept on banging shut of course!). Misleading!

Error Message 4F on MFC 210C
ANSWER : Basically this kind of error caused by loss of voltage on print head. If this is the case then I suggest to buy a new printer rather than replace print head. Print head might be too costly.
