If it is all black then it is either a defective toner cartridge or a problem with the high voltage power supply. Check the contacts on the toner cartridge and in the printer, sometimes the contacts get bent out of position.
This is due to several factors such as poor quality ink being used, tanks not being mixed often enough causing sediment to gather at the bottom of the tanks or not being used often enough. All of these factors can cause the black ink or the colours not to print.
This happens when the rollers or the transfer belt inside the printer get dirty or covered in excess dirt, ink or toner powder, and as the paper is moved through the printer the `tracks` are being left on the page.
Start by choosing “File” and then “Print,” and clicking the “Position and Size” settings. Usually, the default option is “Scale to Fit Media,” which prints to the page margins. Deselect it, then manually enter scale, height and width values that equal the full size of your paper. Click “Print” to print your image.
If you`ve added a background color or image to your document and you want to print it like that, be sure that the following setting is on: Go to File > Options. Select Display. Under Printing Options select Print background colors and images.
Check the ink levels
Sometimes, the printer may not print black ink because it is low or empty. You can check the ink levels on the printer`s display, or by using the software that came with your printer. If the ink level is low, replace the cartridge or refill it according to the manufacturer`s instructions.
There are a few things that could be the cause of this problem, including: Empty ink or toner cartridges that need replacing. Ink or toner cartridges that have become dislodged from their proper place. The wrong paper size loaded in the input tray.
Here are the most common causes of a printer printing faded text or images: Low ink or toner levels. Toner sticking to the fuser roller or problems with the transfer roller. Low ink or toner density settings.
This means the printer is starved of the data it needs to keep printing. Some printers will pause and keep trying, for a little while, but many will just give up at this point and spit out your half printed page. So – the moral of the story is really to always use a wired connection if at all possible.
Choose File > Print. From the Page Scaling pop-up menu, select one of the following options: Tile Large Pages Tile only the pages that are larger than the paper. Tile All Pages Tile all the pages in the PDF file.
When someone talks about bleed for printing, you might be wondering what that means in the first place. If a project is going full bleed, it means that whatever`s being printed will be on an oversized sheet. After printing, it`s cut down to give the impression that the color or image is bleeding off the paper.
Standard black consists of black ink (100% K) and nothing else, while rich black contains Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow. By adjusting the amount of color, you can achieve a deeper and more saturated tone.
That would be 58.5 x 0.05, or 2.925 square inches of ink per printed page.
There are numerous possible causes for a printer that`s randomly producing blanks. The most common ones are empty ink cartridges, improper cartridge installation, and congested nozzles. Driver and software issues can sometimes cause this problem as well.
To resolve this issue, change the default paper size of your printer: Click Start, point to Settings, and the click Printers. Right-click the appropriate printer, and then click Properties. Click the Paper tab, and then click the paper size you want to use in the Paper Size box.
This error message is usually the result of a cartridge that is not firmly seated in its designated slot. To troubleshoot the problem, begin by completely removing the cartridge from its port. Reinstall the cartridge by positioning it so that it snaps into place and is securely fastened in its slot.
Click the start menu and search for `Devices and Printers`. Select devices and printers in the search bar. This will allow you to see the printers connected to the computer. Click the printer you want to check, and you`ll see the ink levels at the bottom of the devices and printers section.
Can you print with one or two empty ink cartridges? The quick answer is: Yes, you can (if you own a printer model that allows it) — but you shouldn`t keep printing with an empty cartridge for too long.
Black Print Mode allows you to print only with black ink as a temporary emergency measure to minimise the down time in the event any colour inks are expended, even if there is no replacement cartridges available.
If one or more color ink cartridges are low but not at the end of their usable life and you want to minimize the use of color ink, change the settings in the Brother software to print with black ink only (grayscale). If you print with black ink only, the other ink cartridges must have ink for the printer to print.
Set Default to Black and White
Right-click on the printer and click Printer properties. In the printer properties window, go to General tab and click Preferences button. In the Printing Preferences window, go to Paper/Output tab. Select Black and White.
In Word, borderless printing can be achieved by setting the page margins to 0 under “file” and “page setup”. To print borderless with Adobe Reader, you have click the “file” tab and select “print”. Select your printer from the drop-down menu. Now click on “properties” and select “borderless printing”.
Note: You can also do this in Adobe Reader DC, in which case you can open the file, go directly to File → Print, then go to Properties and check the Borderless Printing checkbox; make sure the Page Scaling is set to None, then print the PDF without margins.
Choose Print from the menu in the software you are using. (The steps to select Print varies depending on the software you are using.) Click on Properties or Preferences. Click the Basic tab and check the Borderless box.

Black line printing in the middle of the page from top to bottom
ANSWER : Take out the toner cartridge and look at the drum. If you see the line, replace the cartridge. If you don’t, then you need to replace the fuser assembly.

Prints blank pages, won't print from computer
ANSWER : Don’t know why you replaced the fuser, but assuming you had print before, then it must have been something you did during the procedure. Only thing I can suggest is to recheck your work. Just because you reinstalled a connector doesn’t mean that it is seated firmly enough to work. Any flat ribbon connectors that you removed and reinstalled, check to see that the contacts are all flat and not peeled back.

Brother MFC-9400CN Print Unable 2A FIX
ANSWER : I had that same problem, I have a MFC-9840CDW also. I went in and removed the three components Toner Tray, Transfer belt, and waste toner box. First thing no one mentioned is that you cannot just put your toner tray down when you take it out. Look at the bottom, those are light sensitive drums on the bottom. I put mine on its side with the bottom away from light and then covered it with a small black clean trash bag. Nothing touching the bottom, and protected from light. Also the transfer belt should not be placed down on the actual belt. The belt is basically the width of the unit and very delicate. same thing, on its side and covered with a clean bag. away from kids, dogs, cats, hamsters etc…lol. The waste toner box is safe to put on your desk.
