Brother HL-2130 – All Four Lights Flashing
Just the error light means a main PCB failure. Just the toner light means a fuser unit failure. Just the drum light means a laser unit failure. Toner and error light means main motor failure.
An error in the cartridges, the heads clogged by dry ink, a very low level in your consumables, a bad connection between the computer and the printer, a damaged cable, a jam in the print queue…, there are many reasons why your Brother printer may stop printing or print poorly even though you have not jumped the ink …
The Toner (Yellow) LED is flashing. The Drum, Paper and Ready LEDs are off. The toner cartridge is not installed correctly. Remove the drum unit, remove the toner cartridge from the drum unit, and put the toner cartridge back into the drum unit.
If the Error LED is flashing, use the steps below to check the following: paper jam in the drum area, fuser cover may be open, paper jam in rear, or memory full or print overrun.
Among the more common technical issues that may bring down a printer are disconnected cables, malfunctioning routers, and low ink levels. Moreover, software problems such as interrupted connections or incorrect settings in your system`s drivers can also cause your printer to show up as offline.
The printer could be dirty. Solution: Arrange to have your printer cleaned. The toner cartridge may be nearly empty. Solution: Replace the toner cartridge.
The No Toner message appears if the toner cartridge or the toner cartridge and drum unit assembly is not installed correctly. Remove the toner cartridge and drum unit assembly. Remove the toner cartridge from the drum unit, and reinstall the toner cartridge back in the drum unit.
The LED light starts flashing in orange once every 0.5 seconds and the printer enters the Cooling mode. Wait until the LED light starts flashing in green. Make sure the LED light is flashing in green and the printer is ready, and then try to print again.
Brother printer error
The Drum Error is another common error experienced by users of Brother printers. Both the error message “Drum Error” and “Clean Drum Unit” mean that the drum unit of your machine is dirty. The dirt may be caused by dust or by loose toner.
The operating current for the machine while printing is approximately 3.8 Amps. When the machine is warming up it will peak at approximately 9.2 Amps, likewise the machine will meet this peak amperage throughout the printing process. Sometimes this peaking will cause lights to flicker as the power is drawn.
When the machine is warming up it may peak. This peak enables the machine to print the first page quickly. Sometimes this warm-up peaking will cause lights to flicker as the power is drawn. You may experience similar light flickering if you plugged in a hair dryer or similar appliance into the same electrical outlet.
The Drum LED blinks if the drum unit is near the end of its life. Use the drum unit until you have a print quality problem, then replace the drum unit with a new one.
Most printers will stop working when they`re out of paper, ink or toner, or if the unit detects an issue with the ink or toner cartridge. When this occurs, you might receive an error message or notice blinking green or amber lights on your printer.
Paper Jams This is a common laser printer problem. Primary causes include grime, dust, worn rollers, or incorrect paper weight. The most basic way to prevent paper jams is simply through regular cleaning of your printer. Also, replace parts as needed.
The machine may be configured incorrectly. Check the Printing Preferences to ensure that all of the print settings are correct. The printer driver may be incorrectly installed. Uninstall and reinstall the machine`s driver.
The Print Spooler is software built into the Windows operating system that temporarily stores print jobs in the computer`s memory until the printer is ready to print them. In some circumstances you may need to stop and/or restart the service.
Select Start , then select Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners . Scroll down to Related Settings and select Print server properties. Select the Drivers tab, and see if your printer is listed. If it is, you`re all set.
Restoring the factory-set defaults returns most of the settings to the factory defaults. It will not reset the page count, tray size, or language.
Verify the toner cartridge is installed correctly.
If you install a new toner cartridge but the “Toner Low”, “Replace Toner” or “Toner Ended” error indication remains, the toner cartridge may not be installed correctly. Reinstall the toner cartridge, referring to the instructions on how to replace the toner cartridge.
“Toner Error” will appear on your machine`s display if one or more toner cartridges are not installed or not installed correctly.
Toner Refresh recalibrates toner concentration and developer voltages. If you print documents with high or low ink coverage, Toner Refresh can optimize print quality.
Orange light on a printer
On a printer, an orange light usually indicates a problem related to printing activity. A blinking orange light can mean the printer is trying to print something, but is low on ink, out of paper, or there`s a paper jam.
“Toner Low” indicates that the toner cartridge is approaching the end of its expected life, but the cartridge has not yet reached its end of life. It`s recommended that the toner cartridge continue to be used if the print quality is still good.
“Print Unable 03” indicates that a hardware malfunction has occurred. on the control panel until “Shutting Down” appears on the machine`s display.
