Try disconnecting and reconnecting the USB cable on from both ends. Disconnect both your Brother machine and the computer and reconnect. NOTE: When the USB connection confirmation screen appears, click Allow or Yes. (If you are using a USB hub, remove it and connect your Brother machine directly to the computer.)
The network connection between your computer and the wireless router may be unavailable or set up incorrectly. If you replaced your wireless router or access point, or changed its settings, reconnect your Brother machine to the new wireless router or access point. >
If your printer`s status displays “Printer in error state,” there may be a problem with the printer itself. Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to your PC by Wi-Fi or cable. Check it for low paper or ink, and be sure the cover isn`t open and the paper isn`t jammed.
Disconnect the Brother machine from the power outlet. Wait about 15 seconds, and then plug it back in. – Make sure your computer is on the same network as your machine. – Wireless Network Users: Reconnect your machine to your wireless network if you haven`t already done so.
Try a different Ethernet cable. – Reboot the power to your router, access point, or switch. – Make sure that your router is configured to automatically assign an IP Address to connected devices.
Sometimes power cycling your printer can resolve the issue. Turn off your printer and unplug it, wait 30 seconds, plug your printer back in, and then turn the printer back on.
Click Start, (All apps,) Windows System then select Command Prompt. Enter ipconfig. (C:\>ipconfig) and press Enter. You should receive information about your computer`s network connection.
Your Brother Printer could be listed as “Offline” because it is not turned on, it has errors such as empty toner, it is not set as the default printer or its USB cord or its Network have a connection problem.
