Machine Error 41 indicates a mechanical malfunction with Brother machine. It is an indication that there is a problem with the printhead on your machine and the machine requires repair. Often, unplugging the unit from the power source and then plugging it back in again can clear this error message.

Error 4F unable to print is a message related to the print head and specifically means that your print head has either an electrical fault or that it has a temperature error.
Machine Error 7C is an indication of a mechanical malfunction of the Brother machine. Unplug the machine from the power outlet for approximately 30 seconds and then plug it back in. – If the date and time appear on the display, then the issue is resolved.
Typically with that error make sure you have updated firmware. If it is and the error persists you may have to reseat the galvo connectors in the machine. If you do this contact them and ask for the proper procedure to prevent dust on the mirrors.
Examine Battery Terminals: Battery terminals that are loose or corroded can trigger Code #41. Check all connections to the battery`s solenoid, motor and controller for corrosion and tightness. If obvious signs of corrosion, you can use a warm water & baking soda mixture to clean the terminals using a wire brush.
This error has nothing to do with the laser/scanner—it means “unexpected paper size.” The printer measures paper size two ways: The paper cassette has a set of ridges and/or levers usually found on the right side.
Error code -41 means that you use wrong Activation Key in EnableDriver method.

ANSWER : Just googled this problem and delved into the innards of the machine. Lo and behold, there was a piece of paper stuck there and I have removed it (with difficulty). So it wasn’t “back cover” at all (which I kept on banging shut of course!). Misleading!

ANSWER : I just received a used fax machine from a school district that recently purchased a new one. Everything is fine except the indicator light is not lit. It runs perfectly, I just can’t read anything on the screen. Also, is there any way I can get a manual other than printing it. There are 156 pages and I will run out of toner or paper, or both. Error Code 51.1 says Printer Error No Kidding.lol
ANSWER : Sometimes turning off and on will allow you to print a few pages. The error is a beam detect error. The only real fix is to replace the laser scanner unit. Could be a loose connector on the scanner or DC controller from the scanner. That’s unlikely. You could try the only other free fix which is to open the scanner assy. and clean all the mirrors inside. The dust could obstruct the laser beam enough to cause the detect error.

ANSWER : Access the internal maintenance mode by pressing the Menu/Set button, then press * 2 8 6 4 within 2 seconds. This should put you in the maintenance mode menu. Enter 80, and then scroll down with the arrow down (round) key. You will find an entry listed as purge count. If number is over 6000, enter 2 7 8 3.
