The error “Ink Absorber Full” means that the internal ink absorber or flushing box will need to be replaced. The need to replace these items and the time period before replacement is dependent on the number of purges and flushes required to clean the ink system.
Press and hold the “Power” button and reconnect the power cord. When the printer comes on, release the button. Wait five seconds and push the “Power” button again. This resets the printer`s internal memory and overrides the “Ink Absorber Full” error code.
What is “ink absorber” ? Ink absorber absorbs the ink used when Cleaning is executed. In order to maintain the best printing, the ink used when Cleaning is absorbed into the ink absorber inside the printer. The ink absorber requires the replacement when it is full.
Only use alcohol-based pad cleaning fluid, the smallest amount required to do the job. Avoid strong solvents. Use them only for initial removal of silicone oil on the surface. After cleaning, apply rejuvenating oil to the surface before resting for at least 24 hours.

Put about half an inch of warm water in a small tub and get another paper towel. Put the cartridge, printhead side down into the warm water for about 15 seconds. Then place the cartridge back into a paper towel and gentle drag it top to bottom again, trying a few times until you see the ink flowing.

Felt ink pad – This is the most commonly used material, especially for dye inks.
Chances are you will run out of ink (or the ink will dry out) before you need a replacement stamp! For self-inking stamps, the ink pad will last for up to 10,000 impressions before needing to be replaced. For pre-inked stamps, the ink pad will last for up to 50,000 impressions before needing to be replaced.
The error message `Unable to Clean 46` is an indication that the machines ink absorbers are almost full. The ink absorbers hold liquid and dried ink after it has been purged from the print head. These absorbers can control enough ink for the expected life of the machine.
An inkpad is a small box that contains a pad of cloth or other material. It is impregnated with ink (the pad is inky). A marker is pressed onto the pad, then onto paper. Any raised marks on the pad leave an impression in ink on the paper.

ANSWER : I can’t see why a full ink pad would prevent it from printing color. There are no manuals on disassembling the printer. As for replacing the pad, the ink is water soluble. If you can figure out how to get it out, you can just wash it in hot water. Wear some latex gloves.
