Heat and pressure bond the toner to the paper in the fuser. If the outer coating is coming apart then you will have parts of the print that is not getting properly fused and will lead to blurred or smeared print. 2. Creased or wrinkled paper – Just like above, the outer coating of the rollers are coming apart.
Check the paper type and quality. High temperatures and high humidity will cause paper to curl. Please refer to FAQs “What kind of paper can I use?” and “What is the recommended paper?” If you do not use the machine often, the paper may have been in the paper tray too long.
This issue is usually caused by foreign material inside the machine (paper dust, glue from labels or envelopes, paper clips, staples, etc.) sticking to or damaging the surface of the drum. This is typically resolved by cleaning and/or replacing the drum unit.

Wet your paper with a moist sponge or a piece of cloth. As an alternative, dip the paper in water and place it on your table. The water makes the paper stick to your working surface.
A printer printing lines on the page are normally caused by a blocked, dirty, or damaged print head. Blocked ink cartridge nozzles, or not removing protective seals correctly when you installed a new ink cartridge can also cause missing lines of print.
There are four primary causes for horizontal banding on prints from inkjet printers, (1) nozzle clogs, (2) mis-aligned print heads, (3) low quality print settings (4) incorrect paper thickness settings. Below we will describe each of these causes for horizontal banding as well as ways to try and fix them.
Streaks and unwanted lines could mean that the printer heads are out of alignment. There`s an alignment tool in the printer`s control panel. If that`s not the issue then the printer is dirty. Printer ink stripes may appear along the edges of the paper, which means there`s ink on the rollers and other parts.
Vertical lines in prints are an early warning sign of a low ink cartridge, which may show up before the printer`s low ink alerts start. You can fix the problem by replacing the low cartridge. Gently shaking the drained cartridge a bit may help to get another few prints out of it without vertical lines.
As most paper is made from trees, a typical piece of paper is composed mostly of cellulose wood fibers. These fibers are reinforced and fused by strong hydrogen bonds. When paper gets wet, however, those bonds are damaged and the fibers separate more easily. In turn, the paper becomes weak and tears.
You can use the same technique that you would if you were ironing clothing. Move the iron over the cloth-covered paper in small circular motions, making sure that you don`t let it linger in any one spot for too long. Every so often, stop, lift the cloth, and check to see if the wrinkles are gone.
Zip Dry never ever wrinkles paper, including tissue and vellum. It is acid and lignin free, and will not harm photographs. It rubs away completely when wet, without leaving any sticky residue. Scrapbookers and card makers have voted Zip Dry their #1 adhesive for paper.
It is recommended that you maintain constant temperatures and relative humidity. Store unused envelopes in their packaging to avoid the effects of moisture and dryness which can affect print quality and cause wrinkling. Excessive moisture can cause the envelopes to seal before or during printing.
If the print quality is poor, try adjusting the print density, verify you are using genuine Brother paper rolls, and try cleaning the machine print head and roller. 1. Ajusting the print density to make the prints lighter or darker.
