Printer is not printing black. When I do the print nozzle check pattern all colors show up but not the pattern so I am assuming this it the large black cartridge that is giving the problem.
How to Identify and Fix Common printer Problems ?
Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced technical support :
If ink is not coming out when you perform printing for the first time, it is possible that ink is not flowing into the printer properly. Make sure each ink tank is filled with ink to its upper limit and perform ink flush. If the problem is not resolved yet, the print head may be damaged.
Align the Printhead – Many printers include an “Align Printhead” option in their maintenance menu or control panel. This calibrates the alignment installation positions of the printhead, improves deviated colors and lines, and can sometimes get your printer printing black again.
If there is plenty of ink and the printer does not print, clean the Print Head then print the nozzle check pattern to ensure ink is ejected properly. If the problem is not resolved after performing Print Head Cleaning twice, carry out the Print Head Deep Cleaning.
Several factors may cause the product to print blank pages, such as print settings, low ink, or the product itself. Check the following: Make sure the product is placed on a flat, stable surface that extends beyond the base in all directions. The product won`t operate properly if it`s tilted or at an angle.
Test Your Toner Density First
To ensure this isn`t the issue, remove the toner cartridge, shake it a few times, and insert it back into the printer. If the next page you print is darker, that means that your printer is low on toner density. Next, try replacing a light printing toner cartridge with a fresh one.
If your PC or the LCD screen on your printer is telling you that your ink cartridges are full but no ink is passing through to the paper, then it`s most likely that you are dealing with a clogged printhead. Blurry documents and images that appear faded are also signs that it`s time to remove the excess ink.
Remaining Ink Notification Settings
Open the Canon IJ Printer Assistant Tool. Make sure that the printer is on, and click Remaining Ink Notification Settings. Select the ink color and click Reset to reset the remaining ink level counter.
