Most likely you are printing with an inkjet printer and the yellow and cyan colors have run out and you are printing in a mode that would use color ink for printing black.
Whether you use an HP printer or any other, you can make it possible to print in black while your printer screen is showing the color cartridge empty notification. All you need to do is reset your printer first and then, make certain print settings i.e open the option of “Print in Grayscale”.
As long as your printer also has a colour cartridge, all the colours from the colour cartridge will print together to make … BLACK.
The answer is yes, your printer uses a bit of all colors (black, cyan, magenta, yellow) every time it prints. According to HP Support, “[our] printers are designed in such a way that it also uses color inks while printing in black to form a perfect black.
You can only install two black ink cartridges if your printer uses two different types of black ink. If you are trying to install a black ink cartridge in a color cartridge slot, your printer will not function and you could potentially cause damage to the machine.
Inkjet printers: Press the Start Copy Color or Start Copy Black button to start a copy job. If you need more than one copy, press the button quickly for as many copies as you need. The copy job starts after the last button press.
If the ink level is sufficient, but the printer still does not print black ink, you may need to run a cleaning cycle. A cleaning cycle is a process that cleans the printer heads and removes any clogged or dried ink.
Empty ink or toner cartridges that need replacing. Ink or toner cartridges that have become dislodged from their proper place. The wrong paper size loaded in the input tray. Clogged printer head nozzles causing a build-up of blocked ink or toner.
Kindly go to Start > Settings > Update and Security > Troubleshoot > Printer > select Run Troubleshooter. You may also check the print settings to ensure that the option for black and white/grayscale is not selected.
When color ink is expended and black ink still remains, you can continue printing for a short time using only black ink. However, you should replace the expended ink cartridge(s) as soon as possible.
View ink cartridge levels from your printer software, or from the printer control panel. Tap the HP Instant Ink icon on the printer control panel to view ink levels. To check page counts and cartridge shipment status, go to HP Instant Ink.
Black Print Mode allows you to print only with black ink as a temporary emergency measure to minimise the down time in the event any colour inks are expended, even if there is no replacement cartridges available.
Remember, printers use both black and colour inks when printing grayscale, so you`re not saving anything by doing so unnecessarily. Some printers will print with only a black ink cartridge installed – if your printer does this, you can technically save ink and use black ink only to print.
If you regularly print in black and white, but find that color ink is also used, your printer model uses a mix of black and color inks to decrease grain. Additionally, some ink is used from all cartridges to perform periodic servicing that prevents clogs and other print quality issues.
Ink is required in all cartridges to print and to perform periodic servicing to prevent clogs and other print quality issues. There is no way to bypass this feature.
If you`re using a different brand, then it won`t work. You can`t use Canon ink cartridges to replace HP ink cartridges and vice versa. You also can`t interchange different ink cartridge models, even if they are from the same brand. Thus, you can`t use HP 301 inks in an HP 304 printer even if they`ll fit.
Printing on 5% = 480 pages (the official page yield). Printing on 10% = 240 pages. Printing on 20% = 120 pages. Printing on 40% = 60 pages.
Inkjet printers use ink cartridges to function, and ink cartridges excel with both black and white and color reproductions. The average page yield of an ink cartridge is anywhere from 120 to 220 pages.
While a standard photocopying device can do one thing (make copies), a multifunction printer — sometimes referred to as an MFP — lives up to its name. An MFP has the ability to securely copy, print, scan and fax.
If your HP printer not printing black ink correctly, here`s what you should do. Using non-genuine ink cartridges. Printheads that have become clogged. Ink cartridges that are defective or empty.
In general, low ink levels should not impact print quality. Your printer stops and displays a message when ink levels get too low. However, the printer might still perform a limited amount of printing in `backup mode` at low ink levels.
No, using grayscale or black ink only feature you will be consuming the more black ink and lesser color ink. To reduce ink consumption set the print quality mode to draft.
This error message is usually the result of a cartridge that is not firmly seated in its designated slot. To troubleshoot the problem, begin by completely removing the cartridge from its port. Reinstall the cartridge by positioning it so that it snaps into place and is securely fastened in its slot.
There are numerous possible causes for a printer that`s randomly producing blanks. The most common ones are empty ink cartridges, improper cartridge installation, and congested nozzles. Driver and software issues can sometimes cause this problem as well.

canon mx320 copies have blk line down the right side of copies
ANSWER : If you are using the ADF feeder to make copies, then check the small glass on the left side. If there is any dirt or whiteout on the glass, it will result in a line down that spot. You can confirm it by looking at the copy that has the line. If it is dirt on the glass, the line won’t go all the way from top to bottom. There will be a margin on each end.
