Brother MFC 9970CDW
In the 4 years I’ve had my Brothers MFC 9970CDW its gotten very little usage but has been somewhat costly to maintain. Now I’m getting a replace belt message (which is the only part on this machine I haven’t replaced yet) however, the machine is printing well and I can’t afford another expensive part at this time. Is there anyway I get the message to disappear without replacing the part first?

If the LCD shows “Belt End Soon”, it means the belt unit is near the end of its life. Buy a new belt unit and have it ready before you get a “Replace Belt” message.
It is a rotating belt that is typically large which carries the mixture of different colors of toner particles. The cartridges will then precisely apply each toner layer to the belt which will then apply the combined layers uniformly onto the paper. You might need the belt unit to be replaced after some time of use.
The average lifespan of a printer is around 3-5 years. With proper upkeep and maintenance, some printers can last longer, but eventually your machine will need an upgrade.
The message `Replace Belt` will appear on the display of your Brother machine after printing approx 50,000 letter size pages on the machine. The message does not indicate a malfunction of the machine. The belt unit is a consumable (subject to normal wear and tear and expected to be replaced at timed intervals).
The drum unit may need replacing if you notice the printer producing blurry, low-quality images. Black or colored toner spots on printouts also indicates a failing drum unit. In some cases, horizontal lines may develop across the printout every time the paper passes the failing part of the drum.
The Brother machine will display a `Replace Drum` or `Drum Stop` message when the machine has printed approximately 15,000 pages. The drums should be replaced as a set in order to maintain print quality. Unlike the toner cartridges, the drum change is not automatically detected by the machine when they are replaced.
A belt 3D printer replaces the conventional print bed and build surface setup with a conveyor belt, so the surface onto which the hotend extrudes material is constantly moving. Instead of moving the printhead or print bed by one step to proceed to the next layer, the belt moves fractionally along the Z-axis.
A belt unit transfers the toner image onto paper. Belt unit. Position of the belt unit. The belt unit is located under the black, yellow, magenta and cyan image drums. The following figure shows an image drum being pulled out by grabbing the black toner cartridge (1).
A gait belt or transfer belt is a device put on a patient who has mobility issues, by a caregiver prior to that caregiver moving the patient. Patients may have problems with balance and a gait belt may be used to aid in the safe movement of a patient, from a standing position to a wheelchair, for example.

DesignJet 1050C belt replacement
ANSWER : There is a good article about the resistance check for the HP Designjet 1050C after replacing or reconnecting the trailing cable. The article has a picture showing all 3 types of test points that were used with this plotter. Note: The very early Designjet 1050C main logic boards had no test points at all. If the dread 0B0006 comes up on this board, all you can do is put a 2A fuse in around F7 or get a new board (non-Plus) The 1050C Plus board is also available but the Error 0B0006 can usually be cured by simply replacing the glass fuse.
