Battery defects caused many Note 7 units to overheat and combust or explode. On 10 October 2016, Samsung permanently discontinued the Galaxy Note 7 due to these repeated incidents.
There were two battery manufacturing issues which caused the Note 7 to go up in flames. The first one related to battery size: batteries made by Samsung`s SDI group were too small in one corner, causing negative electrodues to be bent and increase the likelihood of short circuiting.
Samsung`s latest flagship is the stylus-toting Galaxy Note 7. Sporting a 5.7” 2K Super AMOLED screen with dual curved edges, 4GB RAM, 64GB ROM, 12MP f/1.7 rear camera, 5MP front camera, a 4096 pressure sensitive S-Pen, iris scanner, fingerprint scanner, and an IP68 certification; the Note 7 does has a lot to offer.
The first Samsung phone to adopt the USB Type-C interface was the ill-fated Samsung Galaxy Note7, but fortunately that fiasco did not deter Samsung`s commitment to the new USB Type-C interface and all its possibilities.
The Samsung Galaxy Note7 device is considered a forbidden hazardous material under the Federal Hazardous Material Regulations (HMR; 49 CFR Parts 171-185), which forbid airline passengers or crew from traveling with lithium cells or batteries or portable electronic devices that are likely to generate a dangerous …
According to the CPSC, Samsung has “received 92 reports of the batteries overheating in the US, including 26 reports of burns and 55 reports of property damage, including fires in cars and a garage”. As of 1 September, Samsung has only acknowledged 35 of these reported incidents.
Those lost sales are only the lost customers Samsung could have expected had the Note 7 not occasionally burst into flames. Recalling the device was so costly that operating profit for the company fell 30%, to 5.2 trillion won ($4.57 billion).
2. How did Samsung react to the Note 7 crisis? Samsung acted hastily and exchanged the faulty Note 7 phones. Then, realizing there was a problem with the entire range and not just one isolated batch, they called back all the Note 7 phones from the market, even though they lost six billion dollars.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 ($849.99, 64GB) is easily one of the best smartphones on the market, with an incredible 5.7-inch display, top-notch performance, and better S Pen implementation than ever.
Eventually Samsung issued software updates that made it difficult or impossible to charge the phone. Still, people who love their Note 7 held on tight (hopefully not too tight) and are still using their phones today — albeit in a diminished state.
Our pick for the best phone overall is the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. It features everything you could want from a smartphone including a large display, four cameras that can shoot 200MP photos and 8K video, up to 1TB of storage, a built-in S Pen for writing and drawing, and a 5,000mAh battery powering the system.
Samsung`s first Android phone: The Galaxy GT-I7500

In 2009, Samsung announced its first-ever Android smartphone: the Galaxy GT-I7500. At the time, Android was just one of many mobile operating systems in the company`s portfolio.

Individuals who own or possess a Samsung Galaxy Note7 device may not transport the device on their person, in carry-on baggage, or in checked baggage on flights to, from, or within the United States. The devices banned from the benchmarking platform include the last four generations of the Galaxy S series, i.e. the recently unveiled Galaxy S22 series, in addition to Galaxy S21, Galaxy S20, and Galaxy S10.
Back in 2016, fires in the Samsung Note 7 led to the largest phone recall in history, when about 2.5 million devices were recalled around the world.
The Note 7 can be submerged in water up to 5 feet for up to 30 minutes. The “6” part of the rating is for resistance to dust, and 6 is a great rating — it means that when the phone comes in contact with fine particulates, whether wet or dry, it`ll be able to survive just fine.
Note 7 Lite comes with MediaTek Helio P22 SoC, while Note 7 comes with MediaTek Helio G70. Note 7 Lite comes with 4 GB of RAM, while Note 7 comes with two variants, consisting of 4 GB and 6 GB of RAM. Both of the devices come with two variants, consisting of 64 GB and 128 GB storage.

Like the excellent S7 Edge, the 64GB Galaxy Note 7 comes with an all-star component list. Its absurdly good camera excels in the dark. Its quad-core Snapdragon 820 chip and 4GB RAM churn out peppy performance. It can withstand submersion in a sink full of water, and you can even jot subaquatic notes on it.
Samsung decided against launching Galaxy Note 21 in 2021 due to the shortage of semiconductors. Afterward, a report by ET News also revealed that the company might suspend the production of the Note 20 series by the end of 2021.

In the case of batteries sourced from Samsung SDI, there wasn`t enough room between the heat-sealed protective pouch around the battery and its internals. In the worst scenarios, that caused electrodes inside each battery to crimp, weaken the separator between the electrodes, and cause short circuiting.
Samsung had to initiate a recall in September of the first version of the Note 7 due to faulty batteries that overheated and exploded. By October it had to recall over 2 million devices and discontinue the product. It`s estimated that the recall will cost Samsung $5.3 billion.

Canon i850 light flashing orange
ANSWER : I normally don’t waste my time with social media crap, but I had to come back to the site were I found some helpful info and possibly help the next person. First: I have a reliable Canon i850 so I’m only addressing that printer’s issues. Second: The tips about cleaning the printhead were a waste of time because, simply stated, the printer is 10 years old and the printhead just needed replacing. Third: I was only able to find the QY6-0064 printhead on ebay and only one of the businesses selling it was located in the US. That’s the one. I received the printhead within 4 days and I popped it into my printer and it started to purrrr just like it has for the past 10 years. I only decided to spend the $66 dollars for the printhead after I became desperate because it isn’t returnable. That risk was worth taking after driving back and forth to the library to print stuff and purchasing an Epson printer that I spent 2 days trying to hook up. I never could get the Epson to work even after numerous support calls and downloads so I returned it and bought the Canon printhead. Good luck
