Perform an alignment
Open the HP Smart app, and then click the printer image. Click Print Quality Tools, and then select Align or Align Printheads. If prompted by the software or printer control panel to scan the Alignment Page, follow the instructions on the page to complete the alignment.

Right-click the printer icon on the taskbar, and then select the Print Head Alignment. Or access the printer software, click the Maintenance tab, and then click the Print Head Alignment button. If you have never gone through this process before, you may be wondering, “What is a printhead alignment?” In a nutshell, a printhead alignment synchronizes the paper feed with the movement of the printhead, ensuring you get the best print quality possible.
If your printouts become grainy or blurry, you notice misalignment of vertical lines, or you see dark or light horizontal bands, you may need to align the print head. You can align the print head automatically from the control panel or your computer, or align it manually from the control panel.
The most common reasons why labels don`t print in the right place are: Your printer settings are not adapted. Your labels contains too much text information or the font size is too big. You might not be using the correct label templates.
Open the Devices and Printers folder, right-click the HP printer, and then select Properties. Click the Device Settings tab. In the Installable Options section, set Printer Status Notification to either Enable or Disable. Click OK.
The print head alignment sheet will be printed and the print head position will be adjusted automatically. Do not perform any other operations until the printer completes the printing of the print head alignment sheet. This takes about 2 to 3 minutes.
In the Devices and Printers window, select your printer and click on Printing Preferences. Click on Maintenance in the window that opens. Click on Print Head Alignment to launch the dialogue box. Follow the instructions to complete the alignment.
Align a Paragraph
Click anywhere in a paragraph you want to align, or select multiple paragraphs. Click an alignment option in the Paragraph group. Shortcuts: To align left, press Ctrl + L.
