Printing A Windows Test Page Using Windows 11 / Windows 10

Start by checking your hardware

Use the Windows built in scanner software instead of the software that came with your printer. You can access this by clicking “Start” then “Devices and Printers.” Then, you should be able to select the scanner icon, which launches the windows scanning utility. This will work regardless of ink status.

PGBK shows no band on test print;
ANSWER : Take out all the inks. On the right side of the cartridge assy. you will see a plastic lever. Lift it up and reach inside and remove the printhead assy. Take it over to the sink and run hot water into the black screen on top to flush out the dried ink. Then flip it over and run hot water on the print heads. Do it for about a minute for each side and then repeat. Blot it dry with a paper towel. Reinstall and try it again.

Epson TM-U220 no test printing, troubleshoot nada
ANSWER : My TM U220 also not printing, it appears that windows do not recognise it. The internal test sugested above does not work either. Any suggestion would be welcome.

15 engine test
ANSWER : The engine test button is located under the panel at the back left side of the printer. It is recessed, so you might have to look for it. It’s a tiny black button about 1/4 inch in diameter. Never seen one get stuck like you describe, especially if you haven’t pushed it. You might get a pencil or something thin and poke it a couple of times.
