Manually Reset the Fuser Page Count

Press the Down Arrow until you highlight “Configure Device”. Press the Checkmark button to select “Configure Device”. Press the Down Arrow until you highlight “Resets”. Press the Checkmark button to select “Resets”.

On the Device Settings tab, click Device Type: Auto Detect to display the drop-down list and then select Color. Click the General tab to verify that the Color: and/or Double-sided: settings under Features are Yes, click Print Test Page to confirm, and then click OK to save the settings.

First, check your printer settings on the file or picture your trying to print. If your page is setup to print in “grayscale” it will only print in black and white. Change the setting to “default” so it will print in color. If your settings look good from the start, the cartridge may just need to be primed.

Restoring the factory-set defaults returns most of the settings to the factory defaults. It will not reset the page count, tray size, or language.

Color laser printers use colored toner (dry ink), typically cyan, magenta, yellow, and black (CMYK). While monochrome printers only use one laser scanner assembly, color printers often have two or more, often one for each of the four colors.

If you are outputting to an inkjet, laser, or large-format printer, images should remain in RGB.

Your printer should have been packaged with a USB cable regardless of whether it is a wireless or wired printer. Plug the cable into your printer and your computer`s USB port. The direct linking should trigger your computer to recognize the printer and start up the software needed to complete the installation.

To set up a printer for the first time, remove the printer from the box, connect the power cord, add printer to HP Smart, load paper, install the ink cartridges, and then align the printer. Note: If you are looking for the printer software, go to 123.hp.com.

Connect the printer to the computer either using a USB cable, parallel port cable, or SCSI cable and then connect the power plug to a power outlet. After connecting the printer to the computer, it can be turned on using the power button on the front of the printer.

Click Start, go to Devices and Printers, right-click on the icon for your printer and select “Printing preferences.” There should be a “Color” tab. Look at that and make sure that “Print in Grayscale” is not selected. Click OK. The figure below is from a different HP printer, buy yours should be similar.

Click the Properties button. The Properties dialog box opens. Check the options on the property tabs to make sure that the appropriate color options are selected. If there is a checkmark in the box by Print in Grayscale, click in the box to remove the checkmark, and then click OK.

Kindly go to Start > Settings > Update and Security > Troubleshoot > Printer > select Run Troubleshooter. You may also check the print settings to ensure that the option for black and white/grayscale is not selected.
