What is printer calibration? Calibrating a printer ensures that the inkjet cartridge nozzles and printer paper are properly aligned to each other. This process ensures that colours stay rich, clear and the finished result is of the highest quality.
When installing the printer for the first time or after installing new print cartridges, calibrate the cartridges to ensure the best print quality. Calibration takes about two minutes and requires examining two printed test pages.
Span Shift Calibration Error

If a transmitter suffers from a span calibration error, that error may be corrected by carefully moving the “span” adjustment until the response is ideal, essentially altering the value of in the linear equation.

Depending on the device and Android version, the location of this setting varies but is generally at Menu > Settings > Language & keyboard > Touch Input > Text Input. Under Finger touch precision, tap Calibration tool or Reset calibration.
For a calibration, we normally specify a tolerance level (maximum permitted error) that a given test result is compared against. If we say that the instrument failed to meet the required tolerance level, it becomes an out of tolerance case and specific follow-up procedures may be initiated.
INACCURATE RESULTS: If you do not calibrate your equipment, it will not give accurate measurements. When the measurements are not accurate, the final results will also be inaccurate, and the quality of the product will be sub-standard. SAFETY FACTORS: Uncalibrated equipment can pose a number of safety risks.
A calibration test page is a document that helps you adjust the alignment, color, and quality of your printer output. In this article, you will learn how often you should print a calibration test page, how to print one, and how to use it to optimize your printer performance.

Environmental changes, such as in temperature or humidity. Exposure to harsh conditions, such as corrosive substances or extreme temperatures. Sudden mechanical or electrical shock or vibration. Frequent use and natural calibration degradation over time.
Calibration Error (CE means the mean difference between the concentration measured by the CEMS and the known concentration from a calibration standard, divided by the span, when the entire CEMS, including the sampling interface, is challenged.
When your printer calibrates, it is checking for a toner patch that is laid on the ETB or transfer belt assembly. It is also adjusting the location or registration of where each color is laid. If you change one of the toner cartridges or the transfer belt it will automatically calibrate itself.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Remove USB cable, if present. Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

HP Photosmart 8750 intermittent serv. stat. stuck
ANSWER : I had this error after the printer sat idle for many months. I thought it was the cartridge drive belt stretching, because it was extremely loose and wouldn’t move the carriage due to slippage. Then I noticed there was a gear belt tensioner to the right side that had some movement. Sure enough, when I shined a flashlight into the ink reservoir, there was a spring that had fallen down inside. Looking at the plastic belt tensioner, it looks as if the spring was held on by a plastic post that had broken off. This is most likely the cause of many of these errors, because the plastic break is very clean and not readily visible, (a design flaw in my opinion). Rather than trying to replace the part, I am going to try tapping a hole in the plastic and inserting a machine screw that can hold the tension spring in place. It also looks like the metal notch for the right hand loop of the spring, would not prevent the spring from slipping off at some point, so using a metal file to enlarge the notch may be necessary. If you’re lucky, your spring may have just popped off and is inside the ink reservoir. This may be one reason why the printer was discontinued so soon. One lousy five dollar part makes the whole printer worthless… I use this this printer primarily because it is easy to clean the heads by removing the carts, instead of having to disassemble the whole damn thing, as in ink tank designs. It makes beautiful 13×19 prints with better color accuracy than my Vivera 6 ink printer.
