On your computer, in the Windows Notification Area (bottom-right corner of your Windows desktop), right-click the printer icon. In the printer menu, select the Properties or Preferences option. In the printer settings window, the ink or toner levels are displayed for the currently-installed cartridge(s).

8×10: An 8×10 image is the largest print size available before getting into large-scale printing such as posters, panoramas, square images or custom gifts like canvases or large format prints. 8×10 images make a great gift because they require no additional matting to fill up a frame.
Let`s say, for example, you want to make a 5” x 7” print (sometimes erroneously referred to as 5 x 7 pixels). A good quality print will require a resolution of 900 x 1260 pixels. For a better-quality print, use 1200 x 1680 pixels. Finally, for the best quality, you should go with 1500 x 2100 pixels.

The best print speed for everyday prints (medium quality) is about 50–60 mm/s. However, users should note that some materials can be printed very quickly (e.g. PLA) while some require a slower rate to prevent warping or print failure (e.g. TPU).
To produce a photographic quality print at 300dpi resolution you need an image that`s 4,800 pixels wide (16 x 300) by 4,200 pixels high (14 x 300).
At the lower end of the scale, prints made with resolutions between 180 and 200 dpi may contain some artefacts in detailed areas but they probably won`t be visible in large prints at normal viewing distances. Above 250 dpi, images will be good enough to withstand scrutiny at normal viewing distances.
Turn the printer upside down and look for 4 little dials. They resemble clocks, imprinted in the plastic casing. The clocks show the year, month and day of manufacture.
If you`re unsure which model your EPSON printer is, locate the model/serial number sticker on the underside of the device.

Epson Stylus C64 in problems, Help!!!!
ANSWER : a lucky tip – if all else fails and you don’t have a PC instead of a Mac, try what I did on my C63. When the head finished moving and both red lights flashed with a “general error’ message, turn off the printer power supply and physically slide the head from its rest position to the far left of the printer. This seems to re-set the “foreign body” trigger. Turn the power back on, the head slowly moves back to the rest position and hey presto the lights have stopped flashing and the printer works! Sounds clumsy but you have nothing to lose trying it, the cost of repair exceeds the value of a 10 year old printer.
