Check Cables and Printer USB Ports

Check all cable connections (including the power cord) on the printer side. If the printer does have power and you`ve properly connected the communication cable, but the printer is still not recognized, try switching to a different USB port on the PC.

Click on Device Manager from the context menu. In Device Manager, click on View and select Show hidden devices. Next, expand the Printers section to view your printer.
Select and hold (or right-click) the printer you want to share, select Printer properties, and then choose the Sharing tab. On the Sharing tab, select Share this printer. If you want, edit the share name of the printer. You`ll use this name to connect to the printer from a secondary PC.
Select Start, type Control Panel, and then press Enter. In Control Panel, select the View Devices and Printers item. Select Add Printer at the top of the window. After the wizard started, select The printer that I want isn`t listed.
Open the start menu and select Control Panel > Administrative Tools > and choose the Services icon. Locate the Print Spooler service and right-click. Then select the option to “Stop” the service.
Click [Start] – [All apps] – [Windows Tools] – [Control Panel] – [Hardware and Sound] – [Devices and Printers].
In the Devices and Printers window click on Add a printer. Choose “Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings”, then click Next. Select Create a new port and choose Standard TCP/IP Port, then click Next. Under Hostname or IP address: Type in the IP address of the printer you intend to connect to.
You may see a “printer offline” error if your computer can`t communicate with your printer. This can be caused by loose cable connections or an outdated printer driver or operating system.
Botnet attacks− Hackers can connect your printer to a botnet, which can be used to steal your data and carry out cyber attacks. Malicious device malfunctioning− Some hackers breach printers simply to wreak havoc. They can command your printer to randomly print weird files or shut off, among other malicious actions.
